Not every rookie can be compared to Danny Dekeyser, people! Dekeyser is a special player who is extremely mature for his age. Smith clearly needs to grow more, but how is he going to do that on the bench? Unless he starts costing us games, like Lashoff did (unfortunately, because I loved how he played in the regular season), he deserves ample opportunity to grow. After all, we weren't expected to go anywhere this year, so why give him a chance

It may be homerism, but the more I watch that disallowed goal, the more I agree with it. He didn't touch Howard, but Howard has no way to be in the right position to make that save. If his crease was open, he would have come out to cut the angle off on that shot. Good call. It will be tough trying to explain that to my Hawks fan friends though... -

Howard strings together 2-3 good seasons and lots of people say he hasn't proven himself enough, but one good season from Crawford and suddenly he's the guy who proved everyone wrong and is going to carry his team to the cup. I don't get it -

I'm surprised the NHL hasn't payed bylsma to keep matt Cooke on the bench. The last thing they want is for him to net the winner -
This rule seems to be getting a lot of attention and scrutiny lately. I want to know what you guys think of it. I understand why the rule was put in place, but it's deciding way too many games. I think they should treat it like an icing and not let the guilty team change lines. Thoughts?

Ehh, I don't know. I think just treating it like an icing would do it. Maybe if it gets out of hand again they can go to a modified rule like you proposed, but for now I'd rather take as many penalties out of the game as possible

I don't think that's true, since not a single person has agreed with the OP.I agree that smith hasn't played well, but he'll never be good in the playoffs if he isn't exposed to it. He improved a ton from game 1 to game 2, which is good. Babcock just needs to stick with him and he'll come around

That was when Detroit beat them on the last day of the season, doing all they could to keep the hawks out of the playoffs. If the stars would have won later that day, they would have been out. My brother and I were at that game, it was awesome -

Did anyone else notice his rebound control today? Great goalies don't give up rebounds on weak shots like that
