Along with dats and Z, Howard was our best player tonight. I feel bad for him. He ended up with WAY too much added stress with all 3 goals coming off of defensive mistakes or dumb luck. Aside from the third period in fame two, Howie has been rock solid. He has been giving Perry and selanne fits all series. Datsyuk is just amazing to watch and Zetterberg is absolutely clutch. If franzen gets going we will be hard to stop It's also really nice to see Abby back. We missed you bud

Game 7! Despite anaheim's remarkable ability to come back, Detroit played well

I didn't know where to put this, so I just started a new thread. Tonight is the biggest night of the playoffs so far with 3 elimination games. So far, teams facing elimination are 0-3. Vancouver, Montreal and Minnesota all lost their elimination games by a combined score of 15-5. Can Detroit, Toronto or St. Louis break the trend tonight? Which teams will be able to extend their seasons? I think Detroit will win and toronto will lose. The kings-blues series has been so close that its pretty much a toss up, but ill go with LA because I like them better

Lashoff really impressed me this season, especially since I didn't expect him to be anything special. He was good in the regular season because he looked like he felt comfortable, but he hasn't seemed very comfortable in the playoff games he's played and it has resulted in a lot of mistakes.It isn't a bad idea to add some veteran presence to such a young blueline. Helm is like our version of cogliano, who has been a spark plug for the ducks this series

I can see advantages and disadvantages either way. You don't want 11 and 12 year olds getting hurt obviously. The problem is that kids don't know how to ht properly when they are young and are more prone to making dangerous hits. I was a small 11 year old and I remember getting rocked several times. However, if you eliminate hitting for peewee a, it will be bantams who don't really know how to hit. Since bantams are much bigger and faster, these dangerous hits will be made even more dangerous. I think they need to slowly work players into hitting, starting as either squirts or peewees. I don't know how easy it will be to "work them in", but it seems like that would be the safest way.

I think we should either go for a proven scorer who isn't a superstar, or a better version of abdelkader to make room for the superstars. Nothing else, unless someone jumps out at us (like Hossa in 2008). Free agents that jump out to me: ribiero morrow Horton clowe gagne Ryder penner Roy Some of those guys might be a little pricey, but if we could get 1-2 of those guys I would be extatic I love our core right now, and with our young guys only getting better I think we're just a couple pieces away from greatness once again
