De la rose looks big, fast, physical and loves to have the puck. Those highlights also showed some incredible passes. You can't have too many guys like him on your team. Bailey looks a little slower, but looks like he has more of a finishing ability. I dont know if he uses his size, but if he does he would be a great asset

I know he's small, but I've seen some video of max domi and he seems to have a little of his dad's fire. He must be a pain to play against.I heard that people question mantha's consistency. Who do you see Kenny picking? Mantha seems like someone Kenny would pick, but I could also see him picking the fastest available player. Thoughts?

I completely agree. I think earlier in this thread I said its annoying that sourey and weber never got anything, but those were not head hits. They both absolutely should have been suspensions, but you cannot really compare them.At this point It's about moving on with the series. I guarantee the players are trying to move on, and we should try to do so as well. No point in adding extra stress when we're already down in the series

You can still take low open ice hits, like tootoo usually does, but if you're going to skate full speed into someone, it has to be pretty low, or you risk suspension. It's a big adjustment and as a hockey player I know how hard it is to stay low on open ice hits, but eventually people will adjust, like they always do

Shanahan pointed one thing out that I didn't notice until I watched the video. Abdelkader skated in a huge "C" all the way around the offensive zone before lining up that hit. That's pretty much the definition of charging. He never said Abby left his feet, but you can't deny the fact that Abby was going dangerously fast for a high-ish hot like that

Howard has also shown incredible ability to bounce back from bad games. After his bad third period, he responded with about 40 minutes of flawless play, and then was hung out to dry in the third by a deflated wings team. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the star of the series from here on out.

This was a borderline call. That rule seems to have a lot of gray area... I wouldn't really oppose this suspension if Souray (sp?) was disciplined for his reckless hit from behind on Abby I think they should put Brunner or nyquist on the first line, and put tootoo in on the third line and Bert on the fourth. Tootoo has good speed, so he would probably fit in with the third line. The third line has been really pesky for a while, but this series they haven't been quite as effective as I expected (maybe because none of them have any playoff experience). Putting tootoo on that line may spark them to play more like the energy line that they are/. If babcock doesn't do that, then its time to split Dats and Z. I think he mentioned possibly doing that for tomorrow's game. Put Dats with franzen and Bert, and Z can go with fil and Clears. Hopefully Z can spark Fil, since they always seem to click when they're together. Also, despite Bert's ailment, all he has to do is get open and Datsyuk can set him up, Mule as well Regardless of what Babcock does, I expect the wings to come out flying tomorrow. I think it will be a statement game. LGW!

I don't think getting defensemen should be a priority this year, especially with all the uncertainty surrounding Datsyuk. If we did get some solid defensemen in the draft, I guess we could trade some of our D prospects. Smith could probably draw in either a solid prospect or an established 3rd liner (2nd liner if Holland pulls off some magic)

You seem to be the Junior hockey guru around here... can you give me an assessment of a few of the players in this draft?: Anthony Mantha is someone who I'm really curious about because everyone seems to talk about him. Judging by his highlights, he seems like a sniper, which we need. That coupled with his size makes me think his playing style is molded after Alex Ovechkin. Is that an accurate assessment? I'm also curious about Zykov, Rychel and Gauthier, but I don't know much about them. They are just ranked right around where Detroit will be picking, so I want to know a little more about them. Max Domi interests me a lot because he seems to have loads of skill along with a mean streak. A nasty guy with skill is likely exactly what we need to protect all of our undersized prospects If you could give me a brief analysis of some or all of these guys, I would really appreciate it. Also, who do you think Kenny will go for? I know a lot of his picks are somewhat out of left field and sometimes they are high risk-high reward prospects

I really think/hope our first round pick this year will be a future top 6 forward for us. I still wouldn't be opposed to a big trade that lands us the #1 pick so we can get Seth Jones. We don't really have the assets for that unless we give up multiple players. I think Seth Jones will be the top defensemen for the next generation. (Like a Lidstrom-type guy, but he obviously wont reach Lidstrom's level) Our pick will probably be too high unless we get past another round or two, but I really like how Ryan Hartman plays. He seems to always work his ass off like Helm

This is exactly what I think every time I read a post on this thread.I wouldn't be surprised if he got suspended because every expert seems to think he will, but I think It's a borderline play. Hopefully he gets no more than 2 games

The only goal that he probably wants back was the one by Emerson etem because he left his post a little early. Besides that he was good. Howard= the reason we will tie this series up on Monday!

Game 4 is likely a must win, but it if they lose it won't mean they'll be done in 5. Like I said in my other post, every game is a new game. Anaheim is a good team and winning 3 in a row would be hard. Not impossible, but hard. I see this game going to at least 6 either way, but Monday is very important

They just need to build off of the positives in this one. Their even strength play looked good through the first 40. Howard looked great through the first 40. They were hitting pretty well. They limited Anaheim's chances through the first 40. The game got away from them big time in the third, which isn't a good thing, but if they hadn't fallen apart in the third we would probably be in overtime right now. Every game has a winner and a loser, like I said after game 1. They lost tonight but Monday is a new day and I expect them to come out flying
