I don't really like yakupov because of his selfish play in the world juniors. If he proves himself to be unselfish in the NHL I may change my mind about him. This celebration I have no problem with though because it was a really exciting moment and the fans were all jacked up. Plus its only the second goal he's ever scored.

Hard to do without a first round pick!People need to calm down. Since the first game, defense hasn't been a problem. I've actually been pretty impressed with both our defense and Jimmy Howard. It's our offense that isn't getting it done so far. I don't view that as a problem because we all know they can score. Once our forwards start picking it up and burying their chances, I think we'll be in pretty good shape. Until then just calm down. Its only been 3 games

Yzerman had supreme skill, but lidstrom almost seemed immune to mistakes. He did everything right on and off the ice. Yzerman was a better captain, but I think lidstrom filled the void beautifully. Lidstrom wins it. Side note: any other team would die to have these 2 guys to pick from

With that said, I agree that granlund is better than any wings forward prospects. I think Smith has the potential to be a bigger star than anyone in either organization. I don't know if that's bias, but that's my opinion.

If you are going to comment on another team's thread, be respectful. Detroit was better than Minnesota last year. The evidence is in the standings. As far as next year, that is yet to be seen. Minnesota could blow Detroit out of the water and have a great season. Or, it could be vise versa. We'll find out soon enough. Again, if you want to comment here, feel free. Constructive hockey talk with fans from other teams is great. In my opinion, it makes the conversation better. But arguing is not constructive. By all means stay here, but keep it respectful. The bickering back and forth is getting annoying.
