Sharp needs to cram another doughnut into his cram hole. The Wings should retire Dom's #39?!? "No, man. No. Hell no! I believe you'd get your ass beat for saying something like that." If this happens, I'm going to start a petition that they retire Boyd Devereaux's # 21. Well holeesheeeit. There's still a chance?!? C'mon Preds, suck harder! In all seriousness, and in the interest of full disclosure, I enjoyed watching a couple of games in Nashvegas a few years back. The fans were cool and were even nice, considering I was wearing the 'Winged Wheel' to the game. That's more than I can say for the mouth-breathing Blue Jackets fans I encountered this past season. I'd love for the Preds to stay in Nashvegas, but I don't think they can pull it off. If they're going to move, Hamilton would be a good spot for them. There are plenty of fans in and around Hamilton that can't stand the Maple Leafs any more than we can.

A little old school, Greektown justice might be in order.

Schlitz and Cheezy Poofs?

Outstanding! Eight more teams line up for the Balsillie Nootz-Train. It's too bad Nashvegas didn't get in on that deal.

Thank you all for a wonderful time!

Willkommen! Enjoy your stay at the best danged hockey fan forum on the interwebs. Methinks that it's still a wee bit early to be calling the finals, but if the Pens and Wings make it, I think it is going to be a fun series to watch! GO WINGS!

Very much agreed. Maybe Lids and Mr. Yzerman have some Louisiana Creole voodoo/channeling thing going on.

This picture pretty well sums up the sport for me, and my love of it. And, of course, name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>&"> name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" />

I realize most are joking when it comes to the Deliverance/fiddlin'/tabaccy comments and that it is all in good fun. What concerns me is the idea that hockey is a 'northern' sport, and that our non-ice hockey nut southern bretheren are never going to take hockey into their hearts quite the same way that the northern bretheren have. My comparison to NASCAR was an attempt to get people to think in a different direction. Alexander Cartwright (of New York) started baseball in Manhattan. James Naismith (of Ontario, Canada) started basketball in Massachusetts. Football got started in the Ivy Leauge. Ice hockey got started in Canada (Nova Scotia? Ontario?). It sucks that Nashvegas may lose their team, but it is only one of several down this-a-way (Atlanta, Florida, Tampa, Carolina). The ECHL has teams all over the southeast. Hockey will do just fine in the south.

Y'all need to lay off Southerners just a bit. It is this kind of "go-play-your-fiddle-you-don't-know-jack-aboot-hockey-like-me-a-purebred-Wings-fan" crap that doesn't help the bigger cause; growing hockey. Southerners have figured out how to make NASCAR successful in places like New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Why is it that NHL geniuses can't figure out how to make hockey successful in places like North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida (minus the Lightning that is)?

Ya know, I'm getting over the whole Fedorov thing. I took Mrs. Nkywingsfan to a C-bus/Wings game last season. Part of the reason we went was to see our boys kick their boys' arses, which they did. But I also wanted to watch Feds play one more time. It was good to see him zipping up and down the ice and it didn't seem (to me anyhow) that he has lost much in the speed department. With his first few steps he was still faster than most and he could still turn it on when he needed it. I enjoyed watching him play again. The thing that got me, though, were the other Wings fans. There were a good number of us in the stands (I'm guessing a 70/30 split). Most of them booed Sergei whenever he touched the puck. At first I thought it was funny. Then I found it tiresome. Finally, it just became rude. The saving grace to all of that was watching some of the veterans give Feds some love after the game. Not a one of us can do beans about what happened, Feds and the Wings brass included. While I wish events would have happened differently, that a $1.00 will get me a cup of coffee. It is a long time in the past that any of this transpired. I'm just going to let it go. I will watch Sergei again, and I won't boo. I'll fondly remember his time in Detroit and thank him for all he did. Feds was a huge part of the Wings success during his time with the team. I'm sad that his career is coming to a close, but I'm also very happy that I got to see one of the best Russian players in the world don the Winged Wheel and hoist the Cup.

I had to vote for da' Oil today. I'm only a couple of hours from the C-bus Blow Jackets, but just can't give in to the "hometown" vote. In the immortal words of that one Asian guy from Major League, "They're still sh!tty." Oh, also gave some love to the Hawks. They have to win something this century. It may as well be a first round series in a logo contest. Unless of course a Steinway falls on 'Dollar Bill'. That'd be a win too.

Iffin' I can jump in here for a question... I'm considering cable w/Center Ice (if the arse clowns offer it) OR Direct/Dish w/FSD (from the "sports pac" option). I don't have either and I don't have an HDTV, so that means beans to me right now. What I'm hoping to see is a metric buttload of Wings games and coverage. Either system (cable or Direct/Dish) will work for me - it really just comes down to access to Wings games and GENERAL NHL coverage. Considering I primarily want to watch Wings games, and everything else is a wash, which would you choose? Cable with Center Ice or Dish/Direct with the Fox Sports pacakge (including FS Detroit)? Curious.....

Why Is Everyone Comiing Down So Hard On The Leafs?
NKYWingsFan replied to NC WINGS FAN's topic in General
Dang. And here I thought it was just because the Leafs are lazy and they suck.©
