I really wish we could see what the line-up looked like with Bertuzzi AND Holmstrom. More speed. Less slow.

In the words of the Rock, Draper knew his damn role, and he shut his damn mouth. Absolutely no reason to say anything negative about this guy. Saying any athlete that's won a prestigious award in his prime, numerous championships, and played 17 years in a professional sport is "average" is just a stupid observation. Kris Draper was a great bottom 6 forward.

Everyone else in the entire league thinks that: a) Holmstrom is old, slow, and stinks b) Bertuzzi is olds, slow, and stinks c) Hudler is small, slow, and stinks Replace these three guys with FAST, YOUNG, and GOOD. That's the answer. We've got a Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Filppula, Franzen, Helm, and Abdelkader. Those 6 forwards are worth their salt. The coaching staff and GM should have enough brains to know what to do with the other 6 spots. Unfortunately, they think Holmstrom and Bertuzzi are 40 goals scorers. Babcock and Holland need to pull their heads out of their butts and realize that they don't have to throw 2011-2012 down the drain to save face with their signings and loyalty. Just put the crappy guys in the stands, and fess up to the fact that you signed them for too long.

I think the REAL problem with the Red Wings is their philosophy and player management. It really has nothing to do with the players. I'll break it down into a couple of simple points: 1) The Red Wings play a style right now that DEPENDS on the power play and getting more than 5 or 6 chances on the power play each night. Their 5 on 5 play is horrible. 2) The Red Wings have too many small skill players and not enough big guys that can bang. This has been the problem for the last 3 years now. If you don't have refs giving you power plays every three minutes, you can't win with this type of system. The refs don't give the Wings the power plays in the playoffs, and they are starting not to give them to them in the regular season now. Holland and Babcock really need to pull their heads out and figure out that the team needs more toughness and speed. Keepers: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Filppula, Helm, Lidstrom, Kronwall Must get rid of: Bertuzzi, Holmstrom Everyone else is expendable.

Bertuzzi and Holmstrom need to ride the pine or be scratched. That's the bottom line. We're too slow and have no 5 on 5 game. That needs to change.

I'd love to see Konstantinov back if I had to pick one player. But Fischer would be a close 2nd. I really liked that guy.

Ha ha ha ha. I remember when it started. Those were good times. Freedom of Speech was Freedom of Speech back then. Now it's about popularity. They even keep a plus/minus stat on everybody so you can have a good rep or a bad rep. I'm a minus 51 right now. I feel like Ericsson! Damn. ha I think you are over-reacting a little bit, however. The team isn't under .500 halfway through the season or anything. 5 and 2 after 7 games isn't horrible. The loss to Columbus was pretty lame, but outside of that, we've done pretty well. The Caps loss was going to happen no matter what. 2nd half of back to back on the road against the league's best team = we're going down. They should have just conceded that game when the season started and saved the trip to the east coast.

Jimmy Howard should be allowed to miss a game or two for the birth of his child and WITH pay. Conklin will do fine in tomorrow's game. That's my stance.

Unfortunately, you better follow the advice of the people who are telling you "you won't make many friends around here". Because that translates directly into = you're going to get banned. Their is a strict law around these parts as to which players you can openly trash as much as you want to and which ones you can't. Learn it well, or be dismissed. Lidstrom = God. Don't even comment on not liking the color of his skate laces. Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Kronwall = Untouchables. Anything more than a "what's up with?" and you're gone for 7 days. Helm/Stuart/Cleary/White/Franzen/Howard/Kindl = DGR's. As in you better have a Damn Good Reason to say something. Otherwise, you're gonna take a lot of heat. And probably will even if what you said was true. Mursak/Tatar/Nyquist/Bertuzzi/Filppula/Abdelkader/Holmstrom/Eaves/Miller/Emmerton/Conklin = Fair game for bashing, but you will offend one poster who happens to like one of these guys as their favorite for some reason. Hudler/Ericsson = Open Season. As far as LGW goes, there can't be enough Hudler or Ericsson Bashing. Let 'er rip.

He's definitely not a puck carrier. I will give you that. But he plays wing, so what do you want from him?

The Wings are getting what they paid for. That's for sure. After Rafalski got injured in the 2009 playoffs, that contract was a huge waste. I think it's going to take White 20-30 games to adapt to his new team, and he'll be a solid d-man for us. He's made a few mistakes early on, but I think he'll settle down as the season progresses. And if they keep him paired with Lidstrom, he's going to look good no matter what.

??? Yah, people are real scared of Bertuzzi. His shove-fests are frightening. Bertuzzi is a sissy. Ericsson hasn't fought anybody yet, but he doesn't shy away from it. I want to see him take on an enforcer.

I went to school with Jason Kidd and Tony Gonzalez. Jason Kidd was an ass and Tony Gonzalez was a cool guy. Lots of people went to school with Abdelkader at Michigan State, and lots of people went to school with the guys I mentioned above at Cal. As Uncle Danny state, it would be nice to know why you think he's a nice guy (ie., is there a story?).
