While I totally agree that lucic is a piece of work I do think this play was handled well penalty wise. Miller came out of his crease to play the puck and I know goalie equipment isnt made for checks but when you leave yourself vulnerable like that you also leave yourself to getting run by people like lucic. On the other hand... I do agree that goalies get pampered too much but this isnt the case I could see if miller was out playing the puck and getting bumbed but lucic steamrolled him. You have to protect the goalie in this case and I think that should be handled by his teammates. Goon it up after something like that. I know they dont have a big enforcer on there team but im sure they got someone in the minors willing to get dirty. Bring him up next time they meet and let him run wild... Thats what I dont get when your gonna play a team like boston that you know is gonna play aggressive you have to prepare your roster for that so you can handled situations like this. Miller went out to play the puck and he got into a close race for the puck and in this case it was with lucic who felt it was close enough he run into miller, bad play, give him the penalty and let buffalo get him back later. Detroit didnt respond right away against the avs when draper got hit but whats the famous quote on march 26 1997... HOCKEY PLAYERS HAVE LONG MEMORIES!!

From everything I've read it always sounded like hockey hasn't ever really had a steroid issue expect speculation of a couple of people and enforcers. I mean getting big helps but its doesn't have anything to do with skill. Getting big doesn't help your skating hockey is all about technique. Don't get me wrong do I think people in the NHL use steroids, some, probably players on the verge of being in the NHL looking for an extra boost but to say just because one person says something doesn't mean a era has to be clouded because of that.

Hey guys im kinda new to this forum but today something pop'd up in my head and I thought I'd ask you guys what your opinion was on this topic. If you were able to bring back any player who played for us who would you pick? You can choose anyone who played atleast one year for us and at any point in his career but he had to play for the wings during that year. I hope this isnt a over used topic, I read alot of forums on here and know you guys know your stuff so I thought I'd get your opinions. My pick; 93-94 Sergei Fedorov. His speed and skills I think would be a good match for this team. Have fun.

I didnt get to watch the game cause for some reason my FSDET was messing up on me... Just kinda wondering how nyquist looked? This is one of the darker moments for sure as a life long wings fan... This team has so much promise and they just cant seem to glue everything together... 72 games left though LETS TURN IT AROUND AND GET BACK TO OUR WINNING WAYS!!!! Plenty of hockey to play boys!!

Oh yea! That was a great season if only he would of stayed on track after that season he would of been a bigger league than in just the fight department. Not to many enforcers have played in a All Star game and that pretty much wraps that up. Probie has always been one of my favorites. RIP

My second pick was 51-52 terry sawchuk. 88-89 Stevie was a close choice too. I seriously sat and thought about this question for about an hour today. I just thought that fedorov would be a better mesh with this team plus we could put him on D for a PP with that nasty slap shot he had or just have him play D all year if needed.

How could anyone want him on there team... He is a disgrace to hockey. Period. Saying he is a agitator is giving him too much credit the word I would rather use is pest. His on ice actions are a embarrasement to hockey and his off ice actions are an embarrasement to human beings.

Hold on now... I think its pretty clear that there can never be another Mr. Sawchuk or even trying to say someone close to Mr. Sawchuk is just foolish. Thats taking it alittle too far bringing in a legend like that on any note.

Conk did let in 3 easy goals in my eye's but the whole team didn't play good so you can't just blame him. He did also make a couple good save as well.

He's fine where he's at with his role it would make no sense moving him from the checking line. Moving him with a higher scorer isn't a great idea. I agree with everyone else though Bert-Helm-Abby have been a really solid line this year.

The most id say right now is to switch up the lines a little bit because I didn't like what I saw last night like the rest of you. Splitting up Z and Dats is very needed I think.
