I hate to be one of these "we really need a natural sniper" guys, but its becoming a trend that we can outwork and out shoot a team for a majority of a game and still end up with bupkis on the scoreboard because we "ran into a hot goalie.". I'm sorry, but that's not an excuse anymore. We once had an accumulation of skill that we could pass around an oppositions defense and make them look silly. That time has come and gone. We need forwards, at least two that can straight up beat goalies consistently. Franzen, when he tries, really looks like that guy, but he is not nearly consistent enough. Trade him and Fil and maybe a pick or some prospects.

People are being rational and sane? No way this is Lgw. No panicking here. Just waiting to see what our team actually looks like. It's a great opportunity with the shortened season to mix it up a bit like we have been. Sure the margin for error is low for making it to playoffs but I would be okay with us missing it this year in favor of playing our younger guys to see what they look like.

Hopefully we can just pick up Iginla when his contract is up. Just let the team bleed this season, let people point the finger at Holland if they want. We'll retool and refit in the offseason. Agreed. I'd love to see more of the kids move up, can you imagine half a team of guys playing as hard as Tatar, Andersson, and Lashoff? Edit: Also Mrazek.

Watching that play where Whites stick explodes just kills me. Howie makes the initial stop but the defense just isn't able to get there in time. If White stays on his feet there he maybe gets in the way of the rebound in time. No way to know.
