It's nice to see the Wings with a 3 goal lead. They aren't outplaying the Preds by any stretch of the imagination. That Nashville team is very disciplined and has quite a few plays that lead to great scoring chances. I wonder if we could trade Babcock and his staff for Trotz's crew? Has anything like that ever been done? Of course, Barry wouldn't accept that deal. Interesting to speculate how Trotz would manage the Wings.

Babcock has always had blinders on when it comes to his lines. He truly has little concept of thinking outside the box. I would love to see Tootoo on Dats' line for a period at least. Actually, since things are so bad, give Dats a new player every period, unless there is one that's successful. Unfortunately, Babcock is too bullheaded to try anything new.

This is a team game. They are all taking their turns being the goat. Right now, the wings have a barn full.

Special team coaches need to be fired.

Wouldn't it be a good time and throw Tatar in that spot for at least one period. Take a look and see what you've got in that player. Babcock is certainly playing afraid.

I was watching both the PP and the PK and wondering what was wrong. I think it's Kronwall. He's nowhere close to being a proper leader. Maybe he's putting too much pressure on himself. Personally, I'd rather see Ericson on the point because he has the hardest shot on the team. Defensively, he and Kronwall are both liabilities. Babcock needs to change something and this is certainly something that should be tried.

I really think the wings are jinxed. Goal posts, hot goalies, officiating, and multiple injuries. The hockey gods have not been with the wings so far. Eventually it has to change, but just ask the Leafs if it ever changes.

Franzen and Brunner should be shooting whenever possible. They both have real hard shots.

Why are our players so stupid/undisciplined in taking penalties? Friggin unbelievable.

I think Quincey has been on the ice for virtually every goal scored against Detroit.

Q was definitely out of his element, along with every body else. Based on this game, I can't see the wings winning 15 games. If, after the first 10 games, the wings have only won 2 or 3 games, then they need to bring up the young ones and get their feet wet. There will be no need to play the Bertuzzis, Clearys etc

I believe Holland will make a big plash for this new season. This is why he kept the money back and he will have more to play with as some players will retire or be let go. Franzen, to me is an enigma and I would certainly keep him. My main objective for Franzen, next year, would be to centre his own line. That's his natural position - so have him play it. Then you would have Dats, Z, Franzen and Helm. I think that could be 4 strong lines. Will Bacock consider this? Of course not because he lives in a bubble.

Stuart has been a huge disappointment. You can tell his mind is not with the wings. Glad he's going.

Preds will win the series, be it 5, 6 or 7. Reason - Babcock does not have a plan B. He really has no new ideas. Pitiful.

I agree with you 100%. Babcock is being outcoached again. Look what Hitchcock did for St. Louis. But to be honest, a team needs the horses. On defence, the workhorses are not there - we need bigger and faster. As a matter of fact, the whole team needs to get bigger and faster.

There's the problem. Babcock won't do anything. His system is flawed because it is overly predictable. Because the Preds know what they're going to do, the wings can't score more than a couple. Franzen is misused and not a factor. Defense is slow and lacks discipline. The team lacks passion. Look at radulov. You can see his fire and passion. It is evident beyond doubt. Where is that passion on our team?

This is no surprise. Everyone knows that Detroit is error prone. This play is just one of many gaffes that this system produces.

Nashville is a very disciplined team that has been well coached. Trots has shown them how Detroit tries to clear the puck and how they try to use the boards. A Preds player is right there where the puck comes off the boards. They know what Detroit is going to do. Babcock is being out coached again. The man has no new ideas.

I still think Babcock should put Franzen at centre. Franzen himself said he plays better there. Are you listening Babcock? I also mentioned that when the playoffs start, the wings will be a heavily penalized team. This will not change because of the mental fortitude which they do not possess. I have seen this for at least the last 6 years. It's probably gone on longer than that. Unfortunately, with regard to where players are positioned, Babcock is too stubborn to make courageous moves. That why he gets outcoached in key games. The other coaches make changes. Babcock just stands there and swigs his water. Nashville is a very good team and very hungry. Detroit could be a very good team, depending on their disposition.

Put Franzen at centre ice. He says that h's more comfortable at this position. He feels more engaged. That alone would be an improvement. Remind actuary that he I still a Redwing. Tell the players a million times plus one to stay out of the penalty box. Tell the hotheads to cool it - namely Franzen and Homer. They must keep their cool. Have the tem warm up for at least an hour before the game. Get them skating so they are ready. Stuart, not actuary. Don't know how that showed up.

I haven't read all the posts but I heard on the radio that some fans were ripping on Jimmy. For me, there's only one guy to rip and that's Miller. How stupid does he have to be. This is another example of the players not ready mentally to play. I would bench him for the next game because his blunder led to the first goal. This was unacceptable and must not be tolerated. Milller had plenty of time to slow down or veer away. Absolutely ludicrous.
