Yeah yeah, correlation is not causation. Everyone seemed to take the third period off. But, deke has been our steadiest defensive defenseman as of late. You cannot deny the importance of defense in the playoffs. I would like to see lashoff in for deke, also I wouldn't mind to see smith sit for colo.Edit: sorry, the "yeah yeah" makes my post seem unnecessarily dismissive. That wasn't what I was going for.

It's not all stats. When franzen is playing like this, of course he's a bargain. It's just frustrating when he's not producing. We know he can do better. And when he's playing like s***, it just looks like he doesn't care. If franzen makes up for it by doing this every year, he will be forgiven time and time again. But, when he is floating early on in the season, he should expect to get some grief in the court of public opinion. I'm absolutely ecstatic that he's turning it around. I just think it's a little disingenuous to pretend like he doesn't play like garbage for several games at a time. Edit: I'm just thinking of all the grief clearly gets because he has no talent. The thing about clearing is that he busts his ass. I think it reflects worse on franzen because he is capable of doing better. He just doesn't try.

Do what makes you feel right. We all love seeing the 'pi smack the ice. We also know that hockey games are expensive. Plus, being in Dallas, you won't get many chances to see the wings. I support you no matter what you do.

I'm not vehemently opposed to the idea. I just don't see it as a pressing need. Chants are a spontaneous event. For some reason people chose to go with "jimmy Howard". To change the chant now would seem like it's forced and for the purpose of nostalgia. I love the wings of past. I just don't think everything we do needs to be some sort of homage. We are a different team from when Ozzie played and we have a new identity. Plus, as HUGE Ozzie fan, it just wouldn't feel right.

It's fair to ask that question. I would argue that Scotty has such a great mind for hockey that players will be more willing to buy into his system whether they like him or not. When players didn't do what Scotty wanted they would often get traded.
