Not really. People believe what they want to believe. Matt Cooke is a piece of s*** and is hated by many people, and for good reason. For many people, he's lost the benefit of the doubt. Is it fair? Probably not. Do I care? No, f*** Cooke. I said it once and I'll say it again. He never should have been in that position because he shouldn't be in the league.

. Yeah, you're right. I'm not enamored with Q by any means, he has been a liability. I think a lot of it has to do with him trying to pinch in too much. But, he is not scared to block shots. I like that. If Q could just play more conservatively he would be a solid bottom pairing guy. Either way, when smith and colo come back I see no place for q. Say what you want about kindl, he's no downgrade from Q and he's WAY cheaper. Edit: I just saw q's cap hit. 3.7?!?! I take back anything good I said about him.

Ask anyone who has played the position, they all prefer to get peppered with shots. It's far easier to keep your head and body in the game when you're working and moving. There is nothing worse than standing around and getting cold.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about cleary's performance againt the ducks. I don't usually join in on the blind hate of the token LGW whipping boy, but, Cleary has been dreadful. He has been slow and weak. Not to mention, his decision making has been terrible. Watch the second goal for the blues. We were on the PK and Pavs lugged the puck deep into their zone, then you have cleary following close for a pass or rebound. Once the blues got the puck back they had a 3 on 2 to the net. Cleary should not be on the pk anyway, but, that mental error was inexcusable. It looks like he forgot how to play in addition to getting older and slower.

When I first saw it I was livid. I blamed Cooke because I thought Karlsson had a knee injury and I saw Cooke raise his knee going into the check. Now that I know it's a laceration I don't think it was intentional. However, we shouldn't even be discussing this because that piece of s*** should have been ejected from the league years ago. I wouldn't be the least bit upset if they did suspend him. He deserves to be penalized just for being Matt Cooke.

I'm not saying we played well by any stretch of the imagination. It's just that he attitude of people here gets old after a while. The wings have been wildly inconsistent all year, and it it doesn't look like it will change this season. With all the departures and the shortened season, I was totally expecting mediocrity. I'm not saying I enjoy it. But, taking such an attitude has made the wins more enjoyable and the losses easier to shrug off. I recommend some people here take my approach, ulcers are a *****.

How not? Holland and the coaching staff have far more and much more intimate knowledge about E than any of us will be able to gather from watching one hour of play per week. We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes.

The problem with making it heavier is that the goalie lose twice. Their gear will take up less net and they'll be less mobile. I agree that gear shouldn't aid the goalie on making a save. But, the gear shouldn't interfere with the goalie either. A clapper is an especially hard slapshot named for the clapping noise emitted by the stick when it strikes the puck. Edit: it's not like there's been a dearth of scoring. I don't want scores to reach double digits with any sort of regularity. One of the best things about hockey is how everyone is on their toes until a goal is scored. Once the puck goes in there's just an eruption of emotion. I feel that we would dilute the quality of the game if scoring were to increase dramatically.

I am all for shorter pads. The thigh rises have gotten out of control. I think they should leave the width of the pads and gloves alone. They chopped a couple inches off of the width already and they eliminated calf wedges. Furthermore, an adult sized glove used to be intermediate sized just a few years ago. As far as ca's, pants, and masks. Those should be left alone. The gear shouldn't protrude in a way where it only serves the purpose of blocking shots. But, the gear does need to be bulky in order for it to be safe. A couple of months ago, I took clapper to the sternum that had me coughing up blood. I play beer league hockey. If I it were an NHL player shooting, would have been f***ed.

Not to mention that he's getting over an injury. Flip is great to have. He is great defensively and able to put up points with consistency. Man, why do you have to say that?
