Zetterberg Passes Kozlov on Wings' all-time Playoff Scoring List
zetterbergfan replied to zetterbergfan's topic in General
And with two assists yesterday, Z now sits just two points behind Holmstrom for 7th place. Only 7 behind Ted. I wish Datsyuk would raise his level of play in the playoffs like Hank does. How about tomorrow? -

He definately has their number in the regular season! -
...With the assist (262nd of his career), Henrik passed legendary Hall-of-Famer Sid Abel for 15th place on the Detroit Red Wings All-time scoring leaders list with 464 points in 495 career games. Zetterberg Scores Buzzer-beater in Overtime

******-by is frustrated by Z's sheer awesomeness!

Yes... Z jumped up to 13th. He only needs 5 points to move into 12th. -
Zetterberg passes Sid Abel on Wing's All-tme list

Correction: Z needs 8 points to pass Red Kelly. Hopefully he gets that this season. -
Zetterberg isn't on pace for anymore assists than he has been getting the past few years. He just isn't on pace for 35-40 goals. Tough year with injuries, not only his own, but those of his linemates. Datsyuk always gets to play with the other top forwards, Z gets the leftovers.

Three more points and he passes Gerard Gallant and Nick Libett... Five more to move past Red Kelly into 12th place. Red Wings Top 25 -
He has 60 points in 63 games, more pts per gm than Datsyuk. I think he may have already had a turning point.

I will start by saying I have no idea if this has been posted in another thread before. I am sure it has. Anyway, here is my ALL-time Wings roster... I went with the idea that I wanted to keep my players grouped in relative eras (as much as possible). I used a lot of centers on the wings to make this happen. FORWARDS Lindsay Abel Howe Shanahan Yzerman Fedorov Zetterberg Datsyuk Holmstrom Libett Delvecchio Ullman Gallant DEFENSEMEN Lidstrom Konstantinov Kelly Pronovost Larson Chelios Bergman GOALIES Sawchuk Osgood Hasek ***I'm just bored waiting for the next game***

Reading over at calgarypuck.com and they say that it is confirmed that the Flames are starting Toskala vice Kipper. Maybe to shake things up? Stupid move IMO. Most of the Flames fans think they will lose tonight and that they aren't good enough to catch the Wings. Hopefully the AV's take care of business tonight.
-
I'd rather have Colorado just do their part to help put the Flames out of the picture by beating them in regulation tonight. 7th or 8th is all we need.
-
If the Wings only manage to win 7 of the 13 then the Flames have to win 9 of 13. I like our chances with at LEAST 5-6 games that Detroit will win for sure.

Article- History of #40 in Sports I have been working on this for awhile. Many publications have polled who is the greatest athlete by each number. All Agree Gale Sayers is the best #40. But he had an injury shortened career. Zetterberg now has the best stats in hockey history for a #40. Will be go down as the greatest? I know....I have spent way too much time on this! lol
-
Are there any fictional #40's I neglected to mention?
-
Interesting stuff... Facts about the actual #40. I am sure it is there for every number. It actually sites Pat Tillman and Gale Sayers as famous #40's in sports.
-
Cortez Kennedy is probably the greatest #96 in sports history. And yes, as funny as it sounds, Patrick Lalime has the "best" stats for any goalie who has ever worn #40.
-
I doubt there has ever been a worse Calder winner than Jackman. Hank got robbed on that one. He probably also deserved one of the Selke's that Datsyuk has won, considering Z is the Babcock's go-to-guy when it comes to shutting down the other teams star player or 5-on-3 power-play. I would hope that the Wings will win at least one more Cup before Zetterberg retires. And if he gets some consistant linemates and keeps putting up 30+ goals/ 40+ assists a year, than he should be a future HOF'r.

I have the Z one in my "man cave". My 3 yo daughter was afraid of it for awhile.

This is awesome. Can I post this on my website?
-
Can anyone translate this? Google isn't translating it for me.

If you look at the NHL.com stats from tonight's 5-2 win over L.A. They list Rafalski's empty-netter as "unassisted". Clearly he received a pass from Zetterberg and Ericsson dug it out of the corner. Does the NHL review these the next day, or does someone have to bring this to their attention?

Sorry all....I hadn't read this when I started a new thread.
-
How's Z skating? Does he look healthy and ready to start the season?
-
Federov? Never heard of him. I had read that Sergei Fedorov won an identical amount in a lawsuit though!
