Him and Nylander have played together before though and seem to have quite a bit of chemistry together. If anything I'm a little surprised that they don't use Nylander as 1C.

Hard to say, he'd probably need to produce a bit more to be a true top line center but he's looking good so far and he's a 96 so he can play next year too and he's already 1C for Sweden which is quite impressive.

Sweden vs Denmark 5-1, fairly uneventful game but Holmström continues to look good, very solid both ways and makes smart decisions.

Sweden win 5-2 against the Czechs, typical junior game, tons of mistakes on both sides. Holmström looked really really solid though, he centered our first line with Nylander and he had one assist. Ehn on the other hand was pretty much invisible.

Can't wait!!! this is easily one of the highlights of the hockey year for me. Sadly my dear team Sweden doesn't look as good as previous years, I'll be very happy if we're in the medal contention. My no.1 wish is that Canada doesn't win though, they haven't won gold since 2009 and if they lose again this year at home in Toronto it would just be amazing

Well Bäckman has signed for Linköping HC now for the rest of the season. I wonder what this means for us, will he be available for the ahl playoffs if he should have a really great season and we'd want him to come over again?

As of right now no we're not a contender we're a first or second round exit.

He's not some kid who came up from a junior league either. He was on the top pairing of a top team in the SHL, played in every situation and ended last season with the best +- in the entire league, played for the Swedish national team and then came here and had an excellent playoffs. Sure he should've just buckled down and fought through it but I can understand that being benched over guys that are never going anywhere has to be very frustrating.

In the shootouts he's ten times the goalie Howard is. Give it a couple of years and he will be better at everything else too.

Ugh if Jurco had gotten that up an inch it would've been a sure goal.
