As a Swede I'm sad to say that you're definitely wrong. We have a lot of young talent but overall the SHL has nothing on the KHL. All the best players from the SHL that can't make it in the NHL go to the KHL these days. The Swedish league was a lot better just 5years ago before the KHL started draining us of good players. -

This defense and this goalie isn't going to get us anywhere in the playoffs provided we even make it in. Sorry but you'd have to be an incurable optimist to believe otherwise. -

But do you lose players like Lidström, Rafalski and Stuart over several years and still do absolutely nothing to bolster the defense? We should thank our lucky stars that hometown DeKeyser fell into Holland's lap or our defense would be an absolute s***fest. -

That was pretty much a given anyway. How could you not do a better or at least comparable job? he never does anything at all. -
We will scrape into the playoffs again and lose in the first round, count on it.
