Tragic. I don't even know what to say... It's a sad, sick world we live in and it makes me glad we have hockey to give us something positive to focus on. My heart goes out to the friends, family and loved ones of those involved in this horrible atrocity. -
Maybe all of us fans can pool up some cash to make an offer for Ryan before he's gone since our GM won't do it... I know that sadly it doesn't work like that, wishful thinking on my part.

You being a Preds fan, what is going on that we don't know about that is making these high quality players want to leave? I mean Nashville just came off the best playoff run had in franchise history and Rinne is solid in net. I don't get it, the fanbase there seems solid. Poile must be a real *******.- 469 replies

It's funny we keep hearing this, like Detroit is the ONLY team that has dominated Columbus... And that is WITH Rick Nash. It's like Howson is saying "I'm not trading Nash to Detroit, then they might beat us" -

Man I hope so, I have nothing but respect for Nash. Where I live, usually the only guaranteed time I can watch the Wings play is on Fox Sports Ohio when they play the Blue Jackets. So needless to say I've watched Rick Nash play quite a bit, and anytime the Wings lose to the Jackets he is responsible.

And I can watch the three Red Wing games that are televised where I live. Granted no basketball, baseball, or football games are playing that night.

I have to disagree, he's hardly a leader. I do not doubt his talent but he lets too much go to his head and is an attention *****. He was given the captaincy too early for the wrong reason, because the flashy face of the franchise (say that three times fast) would sell more T-shirts with the "C" on his sleeve.

I almost believe that Weber would sign with Detroit out of pure spite. Wishful thinking on my part perhaps but isn't he pissed off at Suter for leaving? Not to mention he and David Poile aren't on the best of terms...

I remember when we weren't a contender, when we didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of making the playoffs let alone winning the cup. I stood by my Wings then and I'll continue to do so. As a Wings fan you can't help but notice all the animosity, even hate for our beloved franchise. That's because even where our roster stands Detroit is still a force to be reckoned with and that team you do not want to play.

Shannahan and Cheilos were both experienced captains with there former clubs and wore "A's". Zetterberg was groomed here and will be here for a while, if we were to land Doan it wouldn't be a long contract.
