  1. Uh...he was on the 2nd line two games ago.

The Jurc has clearly reached put up time, or else prospect love begins to turn to hate.

Stages of the LGW prospect romance:

    Post-draft oogling

If I could only get them away from Holland Phase

Honeymoon period as they first play on the wings

I'm not that into you (signs of struggle)

Pre-breakup phase (calls for trade while he still has value)

    The Emmerton who? stage

    Am I missing any stages?

The "goes to other team and scores against Howard" stage

  2. Larkin is a diamond in the rough, something the Wings haven't known since Zetterberg/Datsyuk. The chance to emulate and learn from them isn't something he's going to pick up in Grand Rapids and the chance to do so isn't going to be around forever. Richards is a short timer here, Kenny needs to put a nice package together and get us a legit defender.

  3. I'd be willing to bet Babcock phoned Phaneuf personally and told him to stay put, it's funny how the deal was all of the sudden never spoken of again. Toronto did not want Weiss, Bab's could have had a role to play in that too.

As far as Suter and Parise, Suter is NOT a 10m defenseman and paying Parise that kind of money does nothing to help our defense and only hurts us resigning players. I don't think it's a bum move on Holland's part at all.

  4. Gallagher had a chuckle about the goal while speaking with the Montreal Gazette's Pat Hickey...

“I haven’t scored one with my stick yet,” Gallagher said with his trademark smile. “I threw it wide to (Tomas Plekanec) and I beat my guy to the net. They got a stick on it and the puck ended up under my skate. I went down and luckily it went in.”

So did Gallagher, who upended Mrazek. The play was referred to the war room ,which determined the goal was good because there was no kicking motion from Gallagher.

“I thought it was a good goal, but I’m biased,” Gallagher said. “I always think I’m right.”

Smug bastard. This is why I have no respect for the organization or it's fans.

  5. all who thinks he's awesome should watch game or two this dude played for team Russia on Vancouver Olympic.

I called him a stapler. He stand in the corner casting no shadow waiting... waiting... waiting... until somebody insert a couple sheet of paper inside. And now his wait is complete, he goes f****** BOOM!!! Jump on glass and .... proceed casting no shadow...

    f*** him!

That was the most poetic form of bashing I've ever saw, props man!

  6. the worst part of the non call is that the ref was just feet away and was looking right at it. He put his whistle towards his lips and then stopped. I think that the hit was maybe, in his judgment, far enough away from the wall that he didn't slam into it hard enough, he also jumped right back up and got in the play. That being said, it was directly from behind, in the numbers and near the boards. Maybe Dallas should send the video to the league and get their ruling.

The ref probably thought about it but hesitated because it was the league's new golden boy, It sounds like the tin foil hat in me talking but one has to wonder what goes through their minds. It's horses*** if you ask me.

Isn't this why the coach's challenge is being implemented? (I don't fully understand it yet) If I was Lindy Ruff I would have taken a $10k fine before I remained quiet about that.

  7. I didn't feel this was worthy of it's own thread so I put it here. I just saw on Facebook where Ovie was benched for showing up late to practice, I guess Trotz is a little more zero tolerant?

It's actually nice to see stars made examples of.

Alexander Ovechkin: Washington Capitals Player Benched for Showing Up Late to Practice

Ovechkin did not play in the team's 5-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday after showing up late to practice. He told reporters that he accidentally set his alarm for 8:30 p.m., rather than a.m.
