A zombie once bit Brian McGratton, after 2 grueling days of transformation the zombie turned into an enforcer.

Daley is a pretty solid d-man. But they just got a little worse losing a player like Sharp. And that brings a smile to my Blackhawk-hating face.
I don't understand the move on the Star's part, An already top heavy offense with a now bigger hole on the blue line?

Doesn't seem like Chicago got the return they were speculated to be asking for.
-
Chicago received defenseman Trevor Daley and forward Ryan Garbutt for Sharp and defensemanStephen Johns.

Congrats to Goose!
This hardly seems overpaid, it really shows how bad Columbus got it stuck to them with the Saad contract.
-
Hell the Pens medical staff couldn't even correctly diagnose the mumps when Crosbys cheeks were the size of a cantaloupe.
That actually wasn't mumps, he got his ego stuck in his mouth.
Just kidding! *hides*

I heard Brian McGrattan went for a swim somewhere off the coast of Australia and as a result a species of Shark became extinct because they were no longer the dominant predator.

Larkin is far and away in a complete different class, dude can fly and has good hands.

Let's sign lex luthor.
Or he-man.
No.
Not he man.
Skeletor.
Ottawa would just throw him an offer sheet.
jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this -
Lol. Neil could wipe the floor with Abdelkader, Ericsson, and Quincey all at once.
Am I hearing you suggest we sign McGrattan?
I would sign Manny Pacquiao to a one game contract as long as it was against Ottawa.
kickazz reacted to this -
Maybe Blashill is more open to fighting than Babcock. Ericsson seems to do okay, but he rarely fights anyone noteworthy regarding fighting skill.
This ^
After Tootoo being buried in the minors it seemed everyone was afraid to throw down, so we had guys like Miller and Quincey dropping the gloves. The liberties opposing players would take on our guys made me sick, and I still want to see an imprint of Chris Neil's face in the boards.
-
He could still probably beat up any fighter on our team.
Quincey or Miller? (I couldn't resist)

That was the point. Green isn't a druggie piece of crap, so I don't really care if he wears 25. It's not like the guy guy typically associated with it was a class act or anything.
Man I made an issue out of nothing with my comment.
I see McCarty, Probert, and Kocur in a class all their own, so 24, 25, and 26 will always remind me of them. (Probert and Chelios pretty much swapped jerseys.) That's it. It's not a personal attack on any players, I don't care what they do off the ice.
I find it funny the people on the Wings facebook page complaining, did anybody have a problem when Emmerton wore #25 (with the actual number not the fact that Emmerton was actually on the ice)?Who?
-
And Nyquist has the right to wear number 14? Sheesh
Fair enough.
-
Who's to say that he doesn't make the fourth line or at least get a call up here and there? Even if he only gets 2 call ups I hope it's against Dallas and Ottawa .
Are people really pissed off about a depth signing probably around league minimum? Just be happy the Wings finally have a winger who has great size and will win some battles along the boards.
I hope he finds his home with this organization and learns to use his size and become a hockey player. I have nothing against an enforcer but I don't want a caveman on skates, I want a power forward that doesn't put up with BS and can contribute.
-
Are there any rules against irrational numbers?
Serious question
I would have to try to wear #69 just to find out, but this is why I don't play pro hockey. Well that and I'm 150lbs soaking wet.
TheXym reacted to this -
I would assume 25...
I'm glad to have the guy on our team and all but I've saw him fight. He does not deserve to wear McCarty's number.
If it was me, I'd pick #50.
-
first time I've heard Richards described as fast.
From what I've saw of the guy he always seems to be in the right place at the right time and has a hell of a shot, he certainly isn't going to make us a slower team. I'll take some hockey sense to go with our speed anytime.

Big dog.
Ha.
Damn, it's too bad we didn't still have Emmerton and Tootoo. We could have had the "Big Dog, Em Dog, and Chihuahua" line...

Last year this team got embarrassed by Boston, this year they were better but after watching Stanley Cup playoffs is obvious that the Wings are far away from cup contention. Tampa will only get better and the West is well just loaded.
Anyhow just don't rush Mantha, Larkin and hope that Pasha can stay healthy.
Year before that we took the cup champs to 7 after knocking out Anaheim (who would have wiped the ice with Chicago), don't leave that out. But we lost because we suck so bad and should have tanked that year as well. You talk like we're Toronto....the Boston series was a tragedy yes, but give the guys the benefit of the doubt and at least see how they do with a new coach/system before you write them off.
As for Larkin, I don't see a need to rush him. I put zero games but he may see a few games if injuries are bad or we decide to rest the big guys after an early playoff clinch.
-
He's no Z or D, but I think the guy will fit in nicely.
arag reacted to this -
The guy has 5 total NHL goals since 2010-2011, he seemed legit in the OHL though.
Methinks this is purely a GR move, pity too because a winger of that size would be spectacular.

We don't need toughness or someone who can fight. Fighting is so barbaric.
But who's going to step up and protect Datsyuk from mean ol' Corey Perry?...oh right Datsyuk.

All good fun.
I wonder if Anaheim had to buy out McGrattan's contract from Sher-Wood? They were feeding him sawdust so he'd crap hockey sticks.
