LoL, best GDT graphics EVARRRR!!!! Go wings....despite losing at the WC, (and freezing my butt off still being worth it), I think the team played their first FULL 60(5) minute game this season. Lets hope this continues.

Yeah, I got there late and went to my row and there was nowhere to sit so I asked a couple of guys where seat 19 and 20 were and they moved over a bit revealing that there were 2 cushions squeezed between them and My pregnant wife and I had to squeeze in. She had to sit on my lap and even then, I was squished on both sides.

Yeah, that's the only issue I had with a leafs fan at all. There was plenty of friendly back and fourth banter and all that but it was all in good fun. The guy behind me after alfie scored tapped me on the shoulder and jokingly says "you know that goal was bull right? every goal scored by alfie should automatically count for a Canadian team". LoL I thought my section was going to riot on the overtime horn when Z was goin in alone. I don't get it, they played 20 min periods and stopped at the 10 min mark to clear ice. But, during a 5 min period they HAD to stop at the 2:30 second mark? It's almost as if they wanted to get the shootout for ratings and made that call up as it happened. The leafs fans around me were also kind of confused but relieved because they were certain the game was over if Z got the shot off.

Yeah i live about 40 min from ann arbor, left at 10 am, didn't get there until start of 2nd period. Had 10th row, and while a small portion of the near side ice was blocked, it was still pretty easy to see what was going on. Leafs fans were fun, and I honestly think there were more of them than us. The snow made it awesome but it was very very cold. My pregnant wife started feeling like she HAD to lay down so unfortunately I had to leave as the shootout started. I had my dad drop my wife and I just outside the stadium on Main st. and picked us up there too so no paying for parking but, it DID take us 2 hours to move just one mile down main st after, and 5 hours total to get home. At one point I looked around and people had a good inch or two of snow built up on their heads lol. Overall a fun experience and everyone was cool except after the shootout ended a leafs fan that also left early came up and put his hand right in my face and yelled "good win, oh yeah" and then shoved my face while I was trying to keep my preg wife from falling. Before I could even go after him his buddy socked him in the arm and said "what the hell is wrong with you man, he's holding his pregnant girl, and then apologized" But overall all the leafs fans were awesome. Good game, terrible traffic, cold as all hell but I'd do it again in about half a second.

What kills me is that we almost took it to the hawks in the Poffs last year with the Detroit griffins. We now have IMO a slightly better roster and can't win against bottom feeder teams.

Why is anyone surprised? This is what...3, 4 seasons in row we're plagued with injuries? Doesn't make it suck less but I for one am just getting used to this as I am us making the playoffs. We miss playoffs this year, and then go on a 22 year streak of injuries. You heard it here first.

I still say its because of lack of grit. Hard to stay healthy when all your players are made of pudding. Is bill cosby the trainer or what?

It was only what, 3 years ago that players would at least stick up for eachother a little bit? I don't see this anymore. It seems anytime a player is laying on the ice, all our guys just go to the bench and ignore what happened. Now, I don't like that good clean hits lead to fights all the time now, but for the love of god, if datsyuk is being hacked, cross checked, elbowed in the face, at least go shove the offending player around a bit. This team looks like zombies most of the time.

When I made the thread about bringing the law in, this is what I had in mind. Absolutely intending to injure and gutless. Thornton should not be allowed to play if he can't control himself. My stomach just turns seeing this stuff.

Watching the blatantly purposeful elbow on Datsyuk's face had me thinking. Why shouldn't the players be held legally responsible for actions that are deemed purposeful intent to injure? Now, before you all get your panties in a bunch and say hockey is a rough sport etc etc...I'm not talking every headshot or big questionable hit. I'm talking CLEAR CUT intent to injure another player through physical means. Hitting and rough stuff is part of hockey, true. But the NHL has stated several times that it wants to make players safer by eliminating head shots etc. Well, I'm pretty sure that if players knew they'd have to actually legally answer for their malicious attacks on opposing players, they'd definitely think twice about doing it. As it is now they "MIGHT" get a suspension and/or fine. That's not enough. These guys make millions a year. If I was a millionaire and wanted to hurt someone knowing that I wouldn't go to jail, I'd gladly pay 10 grand to sucker punch a guy I hate. Furthermore, when I played hockey a guy on an opposing team broke his stick slashing a teammates wrist so hard that he fractured it in 3 places. Not only was he kicked from the league, but the police were waiting with bracelets for him to get out of the dressing room. He was charged with assault and battery. Just because NHL players are pro athletes shouldn't make them exempt from certain parts of the law. There are legal hits in the game, and non legal hits. But if a non legal hit borders physical assault on another human being, I'm sorry but they should be forced to pay for their actions. Now some would say "but then they wouldn't be allowed to fight". Wrong, usually a fight takes place between two WILLING players who know what they're getting into. Cheap shots usually happen when one player can't control his emotions and takes a cheap run at an UNSUSPECTING player. Now, say I'm playing in a local league game and decide to swing my stick at another players head, busting his head open and concussing him. More than likely I could be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. So why is it ok to do just because you're a professional athlete? Nowhere did I say the datsyuk elbow should be turned to the law. Maybe your english comprehension sucks but I said that it got me thinking. The fact that they're millionaires just makes it a joke that the league will fine them a measly 10 grand. Fine them 100 grand for these dirty plays and see how they respond. To a guy who makes 4 mil a year, 10 grand is pocket change.

WOW, I've been busy lately and missed last game and haven't had time til now to catch up, but had that hit happened to say Crosby.....there would have been serious repercussions. I REALLY hate the way the NHL operates now days. What happened to zero tolerance on headshots? that was as blatantly purposeful as it gets. Not to mention the cross check to his back seconds before. SMGDH...i just....I'm about done with this joke of a league.
