What about Matt Niskanen? He's on his last year of his contract. Right handed shot, low cap hit, decent size and can put up some points. Not sure if the Pens are willing to give him up though.

Funny that Quincey is listed in rumors for the Lightning after Stevie nabbed that 1st rounder from us for him. If they actually want him that's awesome, I know they have a lot of young defensemen that are absolutely massive (6'6"+) not sure about their talent though. Any thoughts on what could come back our way? Maybe a package deal for someone?

I might be biased, since he's a badger but I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Gilbert here. Was pretty decent for the Oilers, not too impressive with Minnesota, although he spent the majority of his first year injured.

He's good, but I'd rather have Coach Reilly. Taught the Minnesota Miracle man everything he knows. He tells it like it is and teaches kids to go for the dubya. It aint worth winning if you can win big. But seriously, I can't picture anyone I'd rather have behind the bench over Babs. Maybe stick Chelios back there as an assistant to help light a fire under some of these guys. Teach them how to play with a bit of an attitude, and maybe make him condition them.

I'd say yes, though I'd like to see Glendening up as well, I can understand guys with no options coming up. If we can't fill our needs through FA, I wouldn't mind waiting until next off season to see what's out there, or possibly making a deal before the season starts. Cutting the fat off this team should make us a better team anyways. Don't spend money in free agency just because the cap room is available.

Well it wasn't to be taken seriously, as stated. Plus being at work it was kind of hard to put full effort into something like that. I think it's a real possibility Tatar COULD be on our 3rd line depending on what happens this off season. I'd rather have our bottom 9 cost that much and be effective than have Cleary, Sammy, and Weiss who were an actual line cost as much as Ovie does.

I saw these pictures a few days ago. I feel like they're trying to portray it as an unsafe war zone call of duty map type place when this is just a typical construction site. Oh no steel beams in a lay down area near a main road (probably how they got there in the first place) how dare they! Granted working in construction I notice some obvious safety issues there but I'm sure their rules are different. These pictures could easily have been taken in the U.S. and look no different. The fact that their is construction of that scale going on is suppose to be a good thing.

Well, if I was in Datsyuk's shoes, I'd say there is no punishment not worth it. Yeah it might suck, but hey, there's a league at home that will pay me a lot more to play there and I'll be much closer to my family. NHL really has no leverage in a situation like that.

I get that if Gretzky can be traded, anyone can, but there's no way this team trades Dats or Z. These two and Kronwall are the only players we have that are above average right now. These are the guys that will be showing these rookies how things are done around here, setting an example that was put in them by some of the best players to ever play the game. They're both way too important to the team to even consider trading them.

I know Holmgren is crazy, but he's not that crazy. No way do they do that.
