Would be nice if he did, but he obviously didn't want to move around hence why he got the NTC. In my uninformed opinion, he will go sit in the minors, receive his paycheck, and claim injury there before doing something to help the organization out. Plus that's kinda what I want to happen. He would have got 2 mil to go to free agency, so give him 2 mil to watch minor league hockey and not play for a year. That would effectively end his career.

Nah, Sammy and Bert come off the books next year. Save the 1st's, we are going to need them to not put our new scouts in a position to fail. I think a trade is probably going to send us a top pairing defenseman, which will alleviate the log jam. Plus I want to see Sammy's career end in Toledo...

Yeah, I'll go with the red wing scouts on there drafting abilities vs. wannabe scouts at any network. They should have earned the ability to make unpopular picks without scrutiny. Funny how he backslides "worst draft in 10 years, blah blah blah. But we will see how they develop." In 5 years he will be singing the praises of our prospects. We have all watched this movie before.... -

I agree with Richdg on disbelieving so called media experts scouting reports. A good analogy is that team scouts are like professors, media scouting are like 6th grade teachers, and we as fans are 6th grade students. This organization should be the last questioned on their scouting abilities, and draft execution. Babcock was thrilled with the pick, and that's all I need to know. -

Exactly, a lot of top young prospects that are use to dominating get bored. It's different for a 17-18 year old who probably hasn't lived with his parents for at least a year, life revolves around a sport, and doesn't have social stability. Then these writers wonder why some kids lose focus. That's just my professional opinion... -
Johnz- a lot of scouts have saw more of him than any of us. They say he plays physical, has a great shot, and drives the net. He needs to work on his defense but his offensive game has no holes...

Sure use a weight from last year. Hartman weighs 195 and they both project as secondary scoring with Hartman having more offensive potential according to many scouts. You missed my point, neither should be chosen in the 1st. We have plenty of secondary scoring. Mantha, Domi, Gauthier, or Zykov are all better options.

Rychel is Cleary 2.0, and that is not the type of player we need. We need a PF, or a legitimate goal scorer. Not a gritty average sized borderline top 6 guy. If you want that style of player Ryan Hartman is a much better choice.
