I have used Direct TV Center Ice package for a few years now. Just a FYI that you won't get the NHL Network with the Center Ice package. You have to get an upgraded sports package which NHL Network is included with. I think it might be the Ultimate Sports package, I live outside Detroit viewing area and some Wings games are on the NHL Network.

Less games=less revenue. Won't happen.

Don't think Abby is top 6 player but if Wings don't make any off season moves in bringing in that top line sniper which everyone says we need, then by default he may HAVE to be in our top 6. I really like what I saw from Bickell in playoffs. Big body with good hands which he showed in OT winning goal against the Wild. Believe Bickell is UFA at the end of this year. 3rd line of Abby-Anderson - Bickell looks good to me. Other than his penalty killing, not too excited about Emmerton. He did have a couple good scoring chances in game 7 but other than that, nothing really sticks out about him in this year's playoffs.

I was hoping the Sharks beat LA in case the Wings ended up losing to Chicago. Then I would've cheered for Sharks since they haven't won a cup yet and LA wouldn't win back to back cups, I want Wings to hold that honor. I don't want any of the remaining teams to win the cup since they all have won it all recently and dammit the Wings are the dynasty team. I lose interest once the Wings are knocked out. Pittsburg Vs. Chicago final....might as well ask me which brother I like better, Lyle or Erik Menendez.

Didn't he miss some time during the regular season for "personal reasons"? I never heard why or if that leave had anything to do with his poor play.

I do believe Ericsson won't shoot the puck over the boards in the last minutes of the game taking a delay of game penalty when the Wings are ahead. I do believe same goes for Zetterberg.

I did hear someone from Canucks management say they need to change their team and make it more physical. He said the NHL game has become more physical and the Canucks need to likewise change. I believe he said this on the NHL Network after the Canucks were eliminated. Your guess as good as mine if anything will result from these comments or what it means for the Wings.

A short leash from his left ankle tied to the crossbar. Lately I get nervous when he leaves the crease to play the puck. While the Calgary game was the worst I've seen by far, he sure made it far too easy for Getzlaff to score the second goal last night. Brunner made the initial mistake by turning it over but Howard seemed a little slow in deciding to leave the crease and try to knock the puck away from Getzlaff. I voted no to pulling Howard but his decision making playing the puck worries me.

It's no mystery why Sammy is in. During warm ups he's going to take a shot at the net and hit Franzen where it counts. It worked in the last game.

If you mean which teams we would be likely to beat in a 7 game series, I wouldn't rank them that high. I don't know enough about Eastern Conference teams to judge how we stack up against them but for argument sake I will agree with you that Pitts. and Boston are better. The only teams in the West that I would favor them against are Vancouver and Minnesota. We are in the middle of the pack.

Problem I have with the reffing in general, including regular season is the punishment doesn't fit the crime. A player gets checked from behind into the boards and is either hurt or shook up pretty bad and it's a 2 minute penalty. Player barely hooks someone or trips them and it's 2 minutes. They aren't equal put the penalty often is.

In regards to NBC Sports. I have Direct TV and Direct TV guide said last night's Wings game was gonna be NBCSN and also Fox Sports Detroit. At puck drop last night everything was blacked out. I called Direct TV and was told the broadcaster can black out games. However when the Wild vs. Chicago game got over, the Wings vs. Ducks came on NBCSN. Is this gonna be the norm for non-regional Wings games for this year's playoffs?

I want Minnesota out. Can't wait to hear the cannon go off and AC/DC For Those About To Rock numerous times when Jackets play Hawks at home in the first round....a guy can always dream.

If Wings do make the playoffs, I assume Bert at some point will play, so if he's ready to go and I'm coaching, he plays tomorrow. As far as who sits, I leave that up to one of my assistants.

That makes two of us. Surrounded by Wild fans where I live. For years I had to listen to Wild fans complain about how the Wings are just like the Yankees in that all they do is spend money and bring in star free agents. Funny how now it is OK for them to spend $100 million on two free agents and their roster is pretty much entirely different from a few years ago.

When the North Stars left for Dallas I had to find another team to cheer for. It was between Detroit, Winnipeg and Chicago. I chose the Wings cuz they were so fun to watch offensively. In April of 1997 the town I live in flooded and I lost everything. Watching the Wings in the playoffs and eventually winning the cup that year helped me through that nightmare. Past 10 years I get Center Ice and watch almost every Wings game.
