Jeff Moss @JeffMossDSR 3h Ken Holland can’t give his money away to these free-agents. Nobody wants to come to Detroit. Babcock can’t leave soon enough. This.
-
Blah. I'm pissed. Literally, no one wants to sign here. I bet you Holland did offer him the same amount but he didn't want to come here. Can't keep blaming Holland. We're not a destination anymore.

Retweeted by Bob McKenzie NHL on TSN @NHLonTSN 2m 4 teams have not made a signing today: Boston, Columbus, Detroit and Nashville. #TSN #FAF
-
Seems like the only players we can sign are old, Europeans or players that have ties here. Unreal.
-
Ahhh... I see what you did there.
-
There's really nothing to do at this point in my opinion. Wings are going to have to give to get and it's not a quick fix anyway. This could be the season the Wings miss the playoffs.
-
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 40s The Habs need a new captain. Brian Gionta signs with the Buffalo Sabres. And this shows that NO NHL team is safe anymore.
-
I agree. I just had family in from New York and they even said that the Rangers surprised the hell out of everyone going to the finals. They won't be much next year. i wasn't crazy about Boyle coming here anyway.
-
Looks like it could really boil down to us or Tampa for Niskanen. Retweeted by Bob McKenzie Larry Brooks @NYP_Brooksie 2mView translation Brooks Orpik to Caps.... Expand

Retweeted by Bob McKenzie George Richards @GeorgeRichards 6m Have been told #FlaPanthers have signed C Dave Bolland ... do not know the term. Why do I have a feeling Florida will be good next year and be a damn pain in the ass for us .
-
s***, if we get this it'll be a damn good day.
-
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 51s As per @DarrenDreger, Mike @MCammalleri13 to New Jersey, 5 x 5
-
Well I was wrong, Minnesota is out on Niskanen. I'm starting to think he might really sign here.
-
I was kidding. But honestly I wouldn't want Boyle at 5.5, I think that's way too much for him at this point in his career. And maybe that's just a rumor he's demanding that much. I don't believe rumors anymore.
-
How about forget Niskanen and go after Erhoff AND Boyle... Throw Erhoff 4 million per and Boyle 3 million and call it a day. Simple as that...LoL.
-
I don't fully agree there are ALWAYS risks. Yes, there are risks of injury but most of the time you pretty much know what you're getting. If we were sitting here talking about Keith, Weber, Karlsson etc we'd have absolutely NO problem doing what it takes to get either of those players here. But we're talking about a guy that had ONE good season and a mediocre one at that.
-
I'm a guy that mentioned Niskanen months ago but honestly the more I think about a 7 year deal the more I think it could backfire. What if he just a good year and doesn't end up being what we thought and we're stuck with this guy and a big contract. If the Wings sign him I hope it's not over 5 mil per. 5 year/25 million would be a great contract but that's not going to cut it.
-
Just our luck he's from Minnesota and he'll probably go there. I honestly look at it through my eyes and if I was a player and had a chance to play for my hometown I would do it in a heartbeat. Especially a place like Minnesota where they're hockey crazy and they're starting to come together as a contender. I guess if we lose out on Niskanen we shouldn't go after Minnesota born players anymore.
-
Why does it always seem like teams get steals when it comes to trades and we're always getting f***ed? I don't care for Kesler anyway and glad he stayed in the Western Conference.
-
I wouldn't want Niskanen for more than 5 million, 4.5 would be ideal. He'd be getting a 2 million dollar a year raise with a max 7 year contract. At 27 he could only get better. I really don't see this guy being a bust. Signing him would really improve the blue line. You have to do what you have to do at the moment to make your team better and he'd be a great fit.
-
That first month is pretty brutal. But I expect the squad to be healthy and ready for the new season. Hopefully we make some trades or signings and we can get back to having some consistency.

Signed Wings sign Tomas Nosek to 2 year entry level deal

Eh. I'll get excited when I see him putting pucks in the net. Until then, this doesn't tickle my fancy. -
WCF: (6) California Dreamin' v (5) The Night Chicago Died
SimonSin replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
This series just goes to show how hard it is to win cups. Yeah Chicago has plenty of talent and they will be a force for a while but that doesn't mean they'll keep winning cups. Look at the teams the Wings have had and they got bounced out a lot of times when they probably should have won. You just never know. -

How nuts is that? Who would ever have thought it was going to come to this when the Kings were up 3-1? I was watching that third period like if it was the Wings playing. I really, really want the Kings to win this.
