We score on our first PP. Buffalo D looking lost. Loving Alfie and Weiss

What a PK... Good work by Q

3rd line with a nice first shift

I think this has been said, but NBC is really stretching it with this Rivalry night... Which begs the question (and possible another thread) who are our top 5 rivals. Admittedly mine are skewed toward more recent history... 1. Colorado 2. Chicago 3. Toronto 4. St. Louis 5. San Jose

Steve Yzerman wants Game Misconduct penalties for fighting
matthewdanna replied to thegerkin's topic in General
I agree that there are times to fight (someone throws a cheap elbow in a check, some drives hard into a goal, or some other unsportsmanlike act that requires retaliation) but I agree with #19 there should be a stiffer penalty than just a 5 min major. I don't know if it's a game misconduct automatically, but the NHL should definitely track those players that are prone to fighting and institute a progressive suspension criteria. Get the goons out of the game, eliminate stupid injuries, protect the stars, make the game better. I love this... Cherry is a fricken idiot. -
I seriously had the same thought... I mean, can he be that much worse than Q?

The hockey gods are watching

I agree with this... but if he does play say 40 games and keeps Tatar and Gus off the ice then it's buckwheats for him. I'll go with Smith too... I just see him making dumb mistakes in our end trying to skate it instead of passing it.

If you get the DirecTV package, most games will be available on 663-1 in HD. FSD.... at least that's where I watched them all last year with the package... but I live in CA.

Ok, I drank some whiskey flavored Kool Aid and I have decided to be the drunk optimist here. Babs and Holland are just lighting a fire under Nyquist and Tatar... they are going to be so hungry and determined that when they get in the lineup they will "tie" for the Calder. Brilliant coaching Babs.

1. Fil has a career year 2. Boston wins the Atlantic and President's Trophy 3. Pav and Z combine for 185 points 4. We make an unimpressive trade at the deadline 5. Deke is a top Calder candidate, but loses to Jones 6. Howard has better numbers than Rinne and Quick, doesn't win Vezina 7. Vancouver has a tough transition under Torts... Luongo shines though 8. Tim Thomas has a great year 9. Helm is a shell of his former self this year when he eventually plays (I hope I'm wrong) 10. We re-sign Cleary 11. St. Louis v Detroit in the cup

http://kuklaskorner.com/a2y/comments/nyquist-boned?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter It just doesn't make sense to me that we had the chance to field our best possible team and we chose not to. With Eaves on LTIR we could have kept Nyquist up. Sure he gets his 2 games and can't go down, so what? He should never have been sent down in their first place. Why keep Emdog up? Is he really that expendable? Once Helm or Eaves come back won't he have to go through waivers all over again? Someone call Jeff Gillooly to get a lead pipe ready for Sammy.
-
Eaves on LTIR too... are we keeping 23 or 22 players up?

Dana Wakiji @FSDwakiji5m #RedWings Babcock: He's a gd player. (Tatar) has a knack for the net. But early going in the season, tie goes to the veteran not to the kid. Who exactly was the "Tie" with? I want to hear him say Sammy "tied" him... what a joke
