I was just about to post this lineup... exactly! I like it... I'm all about it. Tatar and Nyguist together, feeding off one another. Anyways, New Jersey did not look good except for their 1st line which has some jump. Defense didn't have to do a ton as NJ was turning over the puck a lot and was content in playing defense for most of the game. Boring team to watch... which goes to show how bad Brunner is - he can't start for that team? Were there any LGW fans upset we didn't sign him? I forgot. Next, the "We better buyout Franzen" cohort needs to suck a fat one. Going back to the lines above, if he doesn't center the 2nd line, he could play on the top line instead of Bert because Mule can flat out finish. He is who is he and it's stretches like this that people forget when he goes 4-6 games without scoring. Find me a better player for the money he makes - good luck. I know he is still an RFA, but I'd lock down Tatar right now. He's getting better and better. You have to love him... would be surprised if he is not in the Olympics. Bottom line is we dominated this game against a benign Devils team and we deserved to win. If we keep playing Monster we will not lose another game this season... cheers

Wow, that hurt... Totally outplayed in the 3rd as we stopped skating. Didn't get our second shot of the period until about 7:30 left to play. Though we played OK at even strength for stretches (mostly in the 2nd) you could really see how badly we miss Pav and Z on the special teams. PK was obviously terrible, but I would argue the PP was worse - we gave away too many PP opportunities without mounting chances. The goalie has to be your best player on the PK and that did not happen tonight. Howie's glove-side got dominated today and I could argue 2-3 of those goals should (not could) have been saved. I think Monster should get the next start and stay in net until he loses. I'm pissed that Tatar's two goals got wasted. I will say that I thought Helm never gave up and Mule did rise to the challenge and skated well, but at times we were out of position and didn't skate - for example, Kindl played his worst game of the year IMO ALSO, and this is something I was really pissed about, Philly beat us up in the 2nd and we didn't fight back. They took the fight out of us and it looked like we just conceded and went through the motions in the 3rd. Somebody needed to step up and fight... whether it was the punch on Gus or the boarding on Abby I do not understand why someone didn't drop the gloves - made me think we should have brought Tootoo up instead of Emdog. And finally (forgive me if someone has already mentioned this) I decided to play the Cleary drinking game at take a shot for every time Cleary fell down... at least I had that going for me. Philly's 3rd line and PP killed us and we deserved to lose that game... hope it lights a fire under the boys for the next one.

With Bert out I say give Weiss a shot on the 1st line with Gus and Mule and let Emdog center the 4th line.

I really like both the term and cap hit. There will be UFA's much worse than Big E cashing in for way bigger cap hits in the next 6 years, that's for sure.

I think the NHL should be looking at the INTENT of Cowan's action. He was trying to hit Pavs in the head... that's the bottom line.

I don't want to see Cleary play another game. His slow, uncoordinated, clumbsy ass and his plethora of bad first touches, fumbled scoring opportunities, and offensive zone turnovers need to go. I would rather Pavs line have to play a man down than watch Cleary ruin one more of his shifts. He's awful, it's time for the brass to admit that he doesn't add anything. Sammy lacking as usual. Nyquist, Pav, Z, and the whole Helm, Tatar, Abby line looked awesome. When Weiss and Alfy are back I say we do one of 2 things... Weiss-Pav-Mule Nyquist-Z-Alf Tatar-Helm-Abby Bert-Andy-Miller then put Pav & Z back together and roll out Z-Pav-Bert Mule-Weiss-Alf (give it one more try) Tatar-Helm-Nyquist (PLEASE GOD, let me see this at least once!) Miller-Andy-Abby

OK, enough is enough. Cleary needs to be on the bench. How in the world can he be on the same line as Pavs??? He is a liability and has thus far done nothing. Seriously, what does he add? Once again he is looking over-matched on the ice. I would rather have Miller on that line. It is soooooo PAINFUL to watch Cleary.

I wish Pavs would finally take some advice from LGW... He obviously doesn't know what the F he is doing out there.

You honestly believe that Cleary will NOT be re-signed? I hope you are correct, but I have a bad feeling you are wrong. I really liked Eaves... injuries really took away his opportunities over the past couple years to earn a solid spot. This move pretty much solidifies the idea that Glendening will move from C to RW.

This saddens me. Tatar had a couple bad plays/turnovers last game, but he also had a ton of energy, skated hard, and created those opportunities for Sammy that have somehow earned him another game. This is bush, bush league

He's gotta be out for 4-6 months...
