I am sooooo upset at that Abby penalty at the end... and I think it is all his fault. I saw him making a move toward net and I was screaming NOOOOOOOOOO!! because I knew he was going to go into the goalie. We played too well to lose this game. DAMMIT!!!

The Metro sucking just means 5 Atlantic teams will make it... It's been stated already, but the name "Metropolitan" is stupid - Columbus and Raleigh are not metropolitan cities. And "Atlantic" doesn't really fit for teams like Detroit and Toronto which aren't close to the Atlantic Ocean. Go back to the Norris, Smythe, etc named divisions or make the Eastern Conference division names make sense. This is what I would like to see happen eventually: PACIFIC Vancouver Edmonton Calgary San Jose Anaheim Los Angeles Pheonix Seattle (expansion) With the addition of Seattle it would be an 8-team division which only makes sense. CENTRAL Winnepeg Minnesota Chicago Colorado St. Louis Nashville Dallas Milwaukee (expansion) or Saskatoon With the addition of another expansion team in the Mid West it becomes an 8-team division. Wisconsin is a great state for sports and hockey is huge there so I think a franchise should do well... Saskatoon also makes sense. NORTHEAST Detroit Ottawa Toronto Buffalo Columbus Pittsburgh Philadelphia Hamilton (relocate Florida) There shouldn't be two teams in Florida, move the Panthers to Hamilton. This division still has 3 Canadian teams, so there will be a bunch of border hoping, but the travel is more manageable without the Florida teams. The Michigan/Ohio rivalry is a natural one, so it makes sense for Columbus and Detroit to be in the same division. ATLANTIC Montreal Boston New York Rangers New York Islanders New Jersey Washington Carolina Tampa Bay The current Metro division has the least amount of travel and doesn't have one Canadian team. Give them Montreal so they have to cross the border and go through Customs. This would be a truer Atlantic division. Boston and New York are traditional rivals that should exist in the same division.

Defense just got better

It will be impossible to judge Weiss correctly from an offensive standpoint as long as Cleary is on his line.

I like it! When you win faceoffs, possess the puck and keep it in their end you don't give up shots. Helm is still as fast as ever. Good start, definitely something to build on... got some good PK time later in the game. Tatar might have been the best player on the ice tonight. He's hungry. I'm stoked that he's earning it. The Tatar, Andersson, Abby line is hot and probably needs to stay together... I wonder, though, if it would be even better with Helm when he's back up to full speed. Chemistry between Pav, Z, and Bert is awesome. Smith loves to take penalties... DD is the man... When E comes back Smith should sit. Wondering what the heck we do with Cleary... I mean, he's not a 2nd line guy or a PP guy... he's just not. 1st line is set, 3rd line appears set for now, what happens when Franzen comes back? Flip a coin to see who's on the 2nd line and whose on the 4th? I still think Franzen is better than Cleary... maybe his effort level isn't as high, but he finishes. Regardless, I'm happy.

Yep! You have to get at least one of those to the back of the net... very frustrating to get chances like those and not cash 'em in. Overall, good 3rd period... Tatar looked strong again all night. Bert looked good... Abby finally made a shot (and put it on goal). I think Weiss needs to eventually come back the the 2nd line... he's skating well. Defense was solid for most part... a lot of turnovers in the 1st and 2nd tho. Give Tatar Cleary's minutes please.

Talking about Heatley? Plead to vehicular homicide and only got probation... no jail time. Had to pay the $25K for the investigation.

Great puck possession game only allowing 20 or so shots. DD is a stud and just keeps getting better. We got more shots and Luongo robbed us on a couple. Abby has to finish that pass from Tatar... he shot it right back into Luongo, just had to elevate it. Speaking of Tatar, with the exception of one careless turnover down the middle, he played an awesome game. He should never see the bench again. Awesome compete level, likes contact, takes shots, skates... love it. But the best play I saw, which probably went unnoticed by many was when he was skating up the right boards and Kindl (might have been Smith) drove by him with the puck... he immediately peeled off and went to the point to play defense. I'd say he's all growns up and knows how to play Babs game and stay in the lineup. Smith has to stop taking stupid penalties. Someday we will score more than 2 goals... thanks Howie

Agree on most of your assessments... Slight changes: Franzen & Weiss = C. Franzen has played well in the last 3 games, and his lines have been constantly changing. Weiss's defense has been really good and I like his effort level. Still, they haven't clicked offensively yet. I still have faith. Kronner & Ericsson = A-. I really think DD has been our best defenseman this year, but of course he hasn't been playing against opponents top lines. Still, I think Pav and Z do a lot of the defensive work to make up for some of the turnovers made by Kronner and E. But don't get me wrong, they have been good... the A- denotes room for improvement IMO. Cleary & Sammy = Cleary > Sammy so their grades should show that... Cleary =D+/C-, Sammy = F- (and 0.0 GPA)

I totally agree. I think the silver lining in Ericsson being out might be that DD can get some chemistry with Kronner and stay in the top pairing... maybe putting E on the second pairing with Kindl or Q would give us some depth. I just look at DD and the way he skates and makes decisions with confidence and it makes his signing look like we hit the jackpot. I think someone else posted that he is basically our top 10-15 pick, but we got him without having to draft him. I love him

He is the real deal. I hope we lock him up long term. On many nights he is our best defenseman out there.
