How many hat tricks do the Flyers have as a team? Knuble netted one tonight, and between his, a couple by Hartnell recently, two by Lupul recently, one by Umberger the other day, (and that's just off of the top of my head) they could break the record. What is the most number of hat tricks a team has had in a season?

If Brunnstrom signs an entry level contract, would he become an unrestricted free agent after it expired? Or would he remain the team's property as if he was drafted and just be a restricted free agent?

This years Red Wings are the most complete team since the 02 Cup year. We do NOT need to make a deadline deal. Making a deal just for the sake of making one is stupid. We don't need a 2nd line scorer, we don't need a power forward, we don't need a top 6 defenseman, we don't need ANYTHING. Our team is great, we should stand pat, The Ducks did and look what happened. Actually the misspelling stems from a mistake on his work visa that accidently changed the w to a v. Because of this, his name is misspelled on some NHL related sites. This is not a translation thing, NHL.com simply never has corrected this mistake and even carried it over to his brother who plays for Toronto. ESPN.com and TSN.ca, on the other hand, have made the correction and they are both labeled Kronwall.

What did the Wings do to earn the 4th pick to get Steve Yzerman other than be a bad team the previous year? Thats how all high draft picks are decided. Similarly Pittsburgh earned the 2nd pick to take Malkin by being bad, and Chicago taking Kane, St. Louis taking E Johnson, etc. This is the NHL, not college when players can be recruited and chose where they go. This is how Pro Sports work.

Barry Melrose will sometimes say smart things about hockey, like when he picked the Ducks to win the Cup last year. He will also say many dumb things like when he said Rafalski was better offensively than Schiender but worse defensively. Well, he said another dumb thing on an ESPN.com video when talking about the St. Louis Blues and the players they have, he said: "Wtih Tkachuk, Weight, and they brought back Dallas Drake, fan favorite" ...wow Barry, c'mon, you should know where Drake plays.

Later on the Eastern Conference clip, he noted that the Leafs "Have not been playing well in Maple Leaf's Garden." Guess he hasn't seen that little new place called the Air Canada Center.

Hey guys I know this is coming up in other threads, but I thought it deserved its own. Its time to give Pavel Datsyuk credit for this season so far. We all know he's struggled a little to score goals, but just look at the contribution he is making. He's there setting up every Holmstrom and Zetterberg goal it seems. Every dominate line needs a setup guy (see Spezza) and Datsyuk is doing that job phenomenally. If this season turns into more of a 20 goal, 80 assist year, thats pretty outstanding. Keep it up Pavel!!

We all need to have a little more patience with Hudler, Filppula and Kopecky. Don't forget that these 3 tore up the AHL 2 years ago. They all had 70+ points in 70 games (Hudler had over 90 pts). They are all capable of being solid 2nd-3rd line wingers, especially Filppula. We saw what Filppula can do during the playoffs and Hudler scored 15 goals with 5 minutes of ice time a game last season. Give these guys a chance.

...and Lilja is a solid stay-at-home defenseman in my opinion. Their AHL stats show they know how to score, (something Grigs hasnt done). I want to give them half this season before I really say they aren't producing, not 9 games. I know that the time is now for them to produce, I'm just saying give them more games this season, not just 9.

How GOOD in Zetterberg? Seriously? We are watching him come into his own right before our eyes. He should be in the same category as Crosby, Thorton, Ovechkin and Heatley.
