Guerin is my number 1, but I would still welcome Shanahan back with open arms.

I know everyone is down after last night's loss, but the Wings will bounce back and win game 5, I know it. This team has shown too much character, and too much resiliency. And last night was no different. They battled all night and came back from 3-1 to tie it. They simply lost from a couple bad turnovers and a shaky outing from Dom. If you watched last night's game, you cannot say they "blew the opportunity, they didn't come to play" because they did. They just got some bad bounces and made a couple mistakes. The Wings showed they are the better team, outshooting the Ducks 39-23 on the road. Here's to optimism and an upcoming game 5 victory.

I've used the same word--invisible--to describe him this series. He really has been a complete non-factor.

I feel this deserves a thread. Babcock's line juggling was nothing short of genius. Simply look at 3 of our 5-on-5 goals: 11:09 of 1st: Franzen from Samuelsson & Zetterberg 3:17 of 2nd: Bertuzzi from Cleary & Lang 3:34 of 2nd: Holmstrom from Filppula & Datsyuk Its safe to say the lines of Franzen-Zetterberg-Samuelsson Bertuzzi-Lang-Cleary Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Filppula were a huge success!!

I've been really impressed with the Wings playoff year, but it wasn't until after this game, that I sat back and said "I think they are going to win the Stanley Cup this year."

WCF Game 3 (5/15): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

LETS GO WINGS!!! -
Just gotta say how good Lidstrom has been looking with 15 points in 14 games. That is impressive, especially for a defenseman. He is our MVP I would say.

Those records are better than the ESPN guys, of which the co-leaders Buccigross, Melrose, and Cohn are 9-3. Combined they are 4-8 when picking a series involving the Wings, including 0-6 in the 2nd round I personally am 11-1 so far, therefore, I am smarter than all the ESPN 'experts'

Here is my breakdown of the Wings-Ducks series: Offense- Selanne, McDonald, and Getzlaf are the main forces for the Ducks and are highly skilled, but the Ducks have gone most of the playoffs running 3 lines. Meanwhile the Wings have had outstanding balance running 4 lines and getting production out of almost everywhere led by the first line of Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Holmstrom, which has 11 goals and 12 assists. Edge: Detroit Defense- The Ducks boast two of the best in Niedermayer and Pronger plus sturdy Beauchemin. The Wings match up well with Lidstrom, Chelios and some surprisingly strong play from defensive-minded Lilja, but are hurting from the loss of Schnieder and Kronwall. Lebda is also not 100% but is back in the lineup. Both of these teams will be heavily playing their top-four defensemen over their 5th and 6th, but the Ducks have health on their side. Edge: Anaheim Goaltending- Hasek and Giguere have both been outstanding and have been here before. Both can build off experience with Hasek winning a cup in 2002 and Giguere taking home the Conne Smythe in 2003. This battle might decide the series. Edge: Even Coaching- Babcock's no BS style seems to be working and he might know a thing or two about his former team, which he took to the Stanley Cup Finals. Carlyle is in his 2nd year as an NHL coach, but has been steady behing the bench leading the Ducks to the Conference Finals last year not to mention 2 great regular seasons. They both are strong coaches and know how to keep their team composed even after falling behind, but I like Babcock's toughness and experience. Edge: Detroit Intangibles- I think it's safe to say that Detroit has had the tougher road to get here, which may prove valuable. However, this has also banged them up and the Ducks enter this series the more healthy team. Both teams have plenty of experience, but the deciding factor here is home-ice advantage, which goes to Detroit. Both teams won their home games during the regular season, so it might be key. Edge: Detroit Prediction- These teams match up extremely well and this will certainly be a tough series. Detroit, however, seems to have found the heart and determiniation that we have seen take them to the Finals several times. I wouldn't be surprised to see them fall behind in games or the series, but look for them to battle back just like against San Jose. Prediction: Wings in 7.

Is anyone having the problem with the TSN videos not working right now on TSN.ca? I've tried it on every computer in my house, hitting both Windows and Mac (with firefox), and they wont work. Hmmm..... any ideas?

This is one thing that has been very dissappointing, not Calder's play, but his lack of ice time. When Calder is on the ice, he has been his usual self, going into the corners, hustling, working hard. He just hasn't caught any breaks to get a goal. We all saw what he can do in the regular season, so I think the coaches are losing faith in him way too quickly. I think he is worthy of 11-12 min a game and would use the time to get a few more points. Overall, I really like Calder, I have liked him since we got him and want to resign him, but the coaches unwillingness to play him might prevent that, and for that, I am dissapointed.

Barry picked the Ducks, but at least we made a believer out of Burnside who picked the Wings. These guys are pretty good, after all, its not like all 6 out of 6 experts incorrectly picked us to lose to San Jose. Oh wait that did happen....

It isn't often when you can take a series and mark a single moment when everything was going one way and then suddenly swung completely around. I think it happened in this series. The Lang goal changed the series completely in a single moment.
-
I sometimes laugh at how hard we are on our players sometimes, like Sammy and Langer, but recently, I feel comforted that it doesn't take a lot for us Wings fans to get positive again. A couple goals by Lang and Sammy and we are praising them again. I like that we are tough but also that we aren't that hard to win back over. Way to go Wings and Wings fans!
-
I would guarantee that.

Did anyone else see that blocked shot by Lilja in the 1st period and jump up and pump your fist in excitement? Lilja's play has been spectacular and that blocked shot just represents how he has been.

"One round is not enough" Its safe to say the Red Wings got the memo
-
Lebda needs to play Gooooo Wings!!!

The problem with 2-3-2 is that at one point in the series, the lower seeded team will have played more home games than the higher seeded team. I don't like this at all. At any point in the series, the team with home ice advantage should always have played more home games or an equal amount. 3-3-1 fits this requirment, but I agree that it is too extreme. 3 straight home games is kind of ridiculous. PS: Hey Offsides, waiting to see that cup move to #7 on the sig ;-)

This is ******* RIDICULOUS!! We can't get any ******* BREAKS with all the injuries, f***!!
