Say what you want about Sammy's abilities or production during the playoffs so far, but when you watch the games, He, Huds, and Calder are all huslting and working hard. Lang is the one who is not. When Homer returns, I honestly think Lang should sit. Doubt it will happen.

Check ESPN.com, on the NHL page there is a story about each team's game breakers. Ours is Z, and they say the following: "Zetterberg led the Red Wings with six points in their six-game first-round series win against Calgary." Wow, not only did Zetterberg only have 3 points in the series, but Lidstrom was the team leader with 8. A blatenly incorrect fact from ESPN, what a disgrace. They are terrible.

This is not a knock on Canadian teams or anything, but I am really excited to be playing an American team for 2 reasons: 1) We wont have basically an entire country rooting against us, which can get really annoying especially on CBC. 2) We will actually have a large Wings crowd presence on road games. Games in Dallas or San Jose will have lots of Wings fans, as opposed to Calgary or Edmonton, where none exist. Here's to a great 2nd Round!

Right now in my mind, it feels like Dan Cleary is the heart and soul of the team. Not in an Yzerman way, but in a McCarty way (McCarty of 10 years ago). Cleary is just doing everything, working as hard as he can. Most heart on the team right now!

Babs is not the problem its players like Lang and Sammy. Babs is the in your face, no bs style that we need, but he's in a tough position with guys like Lang and Sammy making enough money to make it hard to sit them. I say, get rid of Lang and Sammy, pick up two more hustling, north american skaters (like 2 more Dan Cleary's) and try again..

I think Pitt will come back and get a win on home ice, Atlanta will get a win I think, I don't see Minnesota winning and I'd have to say Dallas will tie things up. Watch all of these be wrong

Eaxactly, when we talk about which conference is better, the one who has the Cup champion means they have one good team, and thats all it means. The West is better top to bottom. And don't forget the last 3 SCF were 7 games.

Anyone else see the piece on VS intermission when they asked some current players who their favorite playoff hero was? Crosby said it was Steve Yzerman saying he scored so many big goals and referenced the Game 7 OT vs. STL goal. That was cool to see. Gotta love Crosby for recognizing who true heros in hockey are. Also, Luongo said Pat Roy and John Madden also said Yzerman.

Its time for Bert to play. He says he's ready and this would be a good time for him with Calgary at home where they play much better. I don't think this is going to be any kind of a blowout like games 1 & 2 but I highly doubt the Wings will come out flat either. That being said, the Wings have a very good shot at coming out with a 3-2 or 4-3 win, but it will be a battle. Here's to hoping Bert is there to lead the charge. I think Sammy is more valuable that most of you guys think, he has one of the best wrist shots on the team and strong wrist shooter is something we don't have many of. He also shoots right (we only have like 4 who do) and played so well in the last regular season game, I think he'll come on and pinch in goals, not as many as Z or Dats, but a few. I think he is worth the 1.6 mil he makes.

We should know by now that if we don't treat EVERY game as an elimination game, we'll get bounced in the 1sst round again. As for Bert, I at least want medical information. They havn't given us ANYTHING. Did he fail he tests? Did he take the tests yet? What are the tests? Does he have headaches? Dizziness? Does his neck hurt? What is the actualy problem(s)???? Thats what I want to know. All I get is :he sat out practice again, he will miss game 1. Nothing about his actual condition. I'm sick of all this.

this is ridiculous, he is FINE. He got up and played for a few shifts after the collision, then left with a "neck sprain." He then PRACTICES THE NEXT DAY!! Then 2 days later, they say its a mild concussion. Now he isn't practicing and out for game 1? Oh cmon!! Stoping being a f*cking wuss Bert, learn from Lebda. You were fine before, now get in the game! Wow, our team really is soft if Bert, one of our "tough guys," sits out a playoff game b/c of this crap. This feels just like the Zetterberg incident: He leaves practice with "mild back spasms" and will miss one game. Then they decide it is an "inflamed disk" and he will miss 2-3 weeks. That turns into 7 weeks and the rest of the regular season. This is total bullsh*t. We have been finding every excuse to sit guys out. Schneider out with a mild elbow injury, Chelios out with a mild uper-body injury, not to mention him sitting out a couple games for no reason at all. We are soft, we are soft.
