Seriously, when you look back on your life, would you like to say, "look at my 3 stanley cups we won with Pittsburgh" or "look at the extra 17 million dollars I made with Pittsburgh" If I was a hockey player (Crosby), I'd be happy with 6.7mil+winning.

I suppose only time will tell. But this year, I will take Zetterberg and Datsyuk over Crosby and Malkin. And you may be completely right about them being 'worth it,' but Crosby still could've taken 6.7mil. I still think its a little much if you say you're all about winning.

Why our organization is better and why the Wings will stay better: Datsyuk makes 6.7mil while Crosby will make 8.7mil. Zetterberg's new contract will probably be around 7mil while Malkin's will be around 9. Thats 4 extra million to spend, thats a LOT of money. Our players take a little less money, and yes even Crosby, if he was all about team and winning the cup, he could have taken 6.7 instead of 8.7.

If he practices fully, feels great the whole time, and still doesn't play game 1, our front office officially wants to lose because they would have no other reason to hold him.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Franzen's tests were all negative. These are just headaches. He is no more likely to collapse like Fischer than Crosby or Lidstrom or Datsyuk or anyone else.

Mule should be playing now. Doctors have ruled out anything really serious and cleared him for work outs, so he should be back in the game. I don't care if his headaches haven't gone away yet, he should play through them. I know everyone is gunna go crazy at this and say things like: "His health is way more important than hockey" I agree, but this issue has been taken care of. He's seen doctors, had 2 MRIs, nothing is there. These are headaches, nothing else. "Doctors are telling him not to play yet so he should listen to them" Doctors will be extra cautious to cover their own butts. Do you think Yzerman's Orthopedist cleared him to play on his bum knee? Do you think Crosby's pediatrist was fine with him playing on a broken foot? There is a time when matter need to b e taken into your own hands, when there is almost no risk, which is the case here since all serious stuff has been ruled out. Bottom line, it is ridiculous that Franzen isn't playing, he should just lie and say his headaches are gone, and if he doesn't return, and we don't win the cup, I will never forgive Red Wings management for holding him out for no reason.

Here's something people might not like: Keep Stuart and Filppula, then make NO trades or free agent signings. That's right, not ONE. No major signing, no minor signing, NO ONE! Keep all our focus and cap space in keeping the players we have, like Stuart, Franzen, Zetterberg, and Filppula. Assuming Hasek, Chelios, Drake retire, let Lilja, Downey walk. Datsyuk Zetterberg Holmstrom Samuelsson Franzen Filppula Cleary Draper Maltby Leino Helm Hudler McCarty Kopecky Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Ericcson Meech/Lebda Osgood Howard move Qunicey out of necessity.

No worries here. Another day and still no news on his condition. If there was something serious, they would have found it by now. This can only mean they haven't found anything to report. He'll be back by game 1 SCF.

Agreed. My view is that the more time that goes by with no new, the less likely it is something serious. If it had been a blood clot, I think by now it would have been found and announced. I'm guessing they really haven't found anything so there is nothing to report, probably ruled out all serious stuff and they will do some more tests tomorrow or something before just passing them off as stress, tension, or fatigue headaches.

If we let Drake and Downey go (sorry but I want youth right now) there seems to be room for Leino on a roster of 14 forwards, and this includes Helm and McCarty. I wouldn't mind seeing next year look like: Datsyuk Zetterberg Holmstrom Samuelsson Franzen Filppula Maltby Draper Cleary Hulder/Helm/Kopecky/McCarty/Leino (these 5 battle for 4th line duties at least to start) This looks great to me. And just for kicks, I'm hoping for: Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Ericcson Chelios (Meech/Lebda if he retires) Try to move Qunicey for a draft pick, maybe 4th-5th round.

Are you kidding? If he was completely cleared on Monday, they would ABSOLUTELY fly him to Dallas for game 4 Wednesday.

I honestly would love to see Mac play, but not for Maltby. If your talking Drake vs McCarty vs Maltby vs Helm, Maltby should be the first one in the lineup. After that, it is a really tough call. Pick two of Helm, McCarty, Drake. I might actually take Helm and McCarty, but this is hard.

I really, REALLY want to see Maltby and Drake switch so we can get that Maltby-Draper-Cleary line back together. They were so good last year, and I think a perfect 3rd line for us now. Maltby Draper Cleary Drake Helm Hudler Awesome. This should be lines 3 and 4. Anyone else agree?
