Ray certainly had his ups and downs while a Sen...and I'll admit I liked the showdown with Biron this one just lacks class. Here's another gem from the classless archive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUPVq04O8JQ

This. I'll admit I know more about the 300 km garbage stream from Japan tsunami floating towards the BC coast than I do the western conference but I had to laugh. My Mother who is a Coyotes seasons tickets holder thought that the Bruins were a bunch of knuckle dragging mouth breathers but never once did she hold her nose and cheer for the Nucks.

I use shaw in Ottawa and the game on CBC HD is MTL/COL but the Detroit game is on the regional CBC non HD channels- as are some Sens games when Toronto is playing Saturday night UGH

A pissed Alfie is a good Alfie. BAM!
-
Don't know about this Talbot guy but LGW! Get this one and Alfie scores mad...please? He;s got to be pissed about Wed's game.
-
Quickly to add Alfie was the consummate captain. He took the heat and he took the applause. He scored, passed, hustled, backchecked. He left it all on the ice, that's why he was such a successful captain. I guess if they'd have asked him to play defence he's have done that too. He is a 75% guy, a balanced player. Never says well I don't backcheck because I score. Kind of like Yzerman(with respect) when he went from a pure offensive player to a well rounded 200 ft player for the betterment of his team and thus a HOF player. Alfie was that guy, right now Spezza is not. The future remains to be seen.

Nope, not going to happen. I'd love to say hell ya but I can't, I'm a fan but I'm also a realist and I'm not going to pump Ottawa's tires needlessly. My prediction is the Sens are going to be pumped and each and every player is going to try and win this game themselves. More penalties will follow. They will be nervous playing against Alfie- they all hold him in high esteem and will focus on him. No one will be watching the other Detroit players. Playing Detroit is not going to make all their lack of effort and team chemistry issues go away. Adding on the fact that Alfie has always left it all on the ice and although he would never say it publicly he's going to want this win to send a message to Sens management. I'm not mailing you the win but it's not going to be pretty.

I'll just put this out there but I didn't think Howard was that good. With Detroit in the West all we heard was Raask, Thomas,Price etc.... I though he was Meh. Welcome to the east Jimmie......you'll be making a name for yourself in no time.

Wings are looking great tonight, totally in control. Tape to tape passes and laying the body. Keep it up boys.

I guess you find them in Motor City BoSmoke.....and Alfie looks crazed to me in a good way. Hooyea!

I find these pictures quite interesting. Why? I've seen the first one many times over many years- it says to me in a familiar way, I'm happy to be back playing hockey again. I love what I do.' That's the Alfie I know. Mind you I don't really notice the hair or stache, he's that familiar to me. Look at his eyes. ... The first pic is normal, I see it every year. The second pic I've never seen before- he looks like well I don't know....a guy that just got handed the keys to a Zetterberg and a Datsyuk and he's going to drive them like he stole them. 40shmorty....he's got game and right now not a care in the world, just play and make it happen. He looks like a kid on Christmas day on a halloween candy rush.

Oh goodness! You really aren't trolling with that statement!.....that was actually nice. Go check out the HF Ottawa board it is currently in full meltdown, well it has been for 2 weeks but it is just gaining stream game after game. The whole team is in free fall. No one has an answer because Alfie used to show us the way. Spezza is being villifed as a captain, they are calling him Captain Lazy- brutal effort tonight. Slow slow slow leads to cheating leads to penalties, I think we have spent the most time on the PK by a wide margin. Karlsson is trying but some of the first step and pivot that made him so special is for now gone and he's blowing a gasket frustrated. It's a mess right now and no leader to show them the way. They are missing their former captain in ways that no one fully appreciated. It's a tough time to be a Sens fan when you lose to Edmonton and make the Devils look really tough. Luckily the Red Wings Phoenix game is on centre ice free tonight-my other 2 go to teams.

I knew this signing was going to be great for you guys and great for Alfie. He really doesn't take a night off and he's so smart. What a great fit. I really hope you win the Cup because nothing could be sweeter than to Alfie hoist that cup. As much as some fans in Ottawa are mad they'd rally around this and convince themselves that we gave him to you.
-
Is Alfie on the first line PP and third line player? 3 assists tonight - he's Alfielicious. Move that man up!
-
I was hoping, I am hoping that Alfie would be firing out of the gate. Not having to carry the Sens would be good for him. Maybe he needs that pressure to perform? We're in uncharted territory here. Please don't let him just fade into the roster. I'm on the ledge here....
-
No TV for this one for me. Boo. I'll be honest I'm a fan of both these teams but damnit why hasn't Alfie scored. Where has he been? I've been thinking great thinks for him on the winged wheel????

Baertschi and Zibanejad thrown under the bus publically
SensViking replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
Funny in all of the drama surrounding Alfiegate no one has ever said a bad word about Detroit. I guess the feeling is that he chose to leave not that Detroit stole him. I guess if a deal was good enough for Ottawa but were are now divisional opponents and GM's traditionally don't deal within divisions- just my opinion. so as much fun as it would be for you guys to add another Swede I just don't see it happening not because of any bad blood. Zibby needs to remember he is not an established player and he needs to work his butt off not be spinning records in an Ottawa bar at night.
