IIRC, in the all-time numbers, who wins Game 2 is a much better predictor of who wins the series than is Game 1.

Dispelling some myths: the Pittsburgh Penguins

Hey, eat me. Just because I'm a scientist doesn't mean I can't party like a rock star (as my hangover today attests... ugh!) -
It rules. I have a 32" Sharp Aquos LCD in my bedroom and it's a godsend for hockey.

The difference is, on that scale, negligible. As of today, Neptune is 29.9 AU away, Pluto 30.6 AU (one astronomical unit = the average Earth-Sun distance). I'd prefer much farther. Andromeda or something. -
He definitely gets away with murder back there, but for my money he's no Billy Smith, Ron Hextall or Crazy Eddie.

How about not playing that god-awful Chelios/Lebda pair with the fourth line every time? That group of five gets pinned in their own zone for the entire shift every other time out there.

This is the same team that didn't even look fast enough to compete with the Red Wings through three games. They want it more right now, and the Wings' precision passing is nowhere to be found when Dallas pressures the puck.

Exactly! What a bunch of *******. Some of us remember when hockey used to be a contact sport. And I don't care if the media has been selling it since it happened, there was nothing wrong with the Holmstrom screen in Game 1 either. Incidental contact, suck it up. Anaheim scored half their goals in the WCF last year by interfering with Dom a hell of a lot more than that. Meanwhile, Detroit lost Game 4 because they weren't good enough and Dallas wanted it more, but that garbage sure didn't help.

I'd give it to Pisani

At least they got rid of Koharski.

Actually, the real reason is that CBC only has one HD truck and it was in Ottawa last night (for that ultra-exciting series). So it was only broadcast in standard definition. When CBC games are in HD they are carried on VS as such.

Of course he hates cops, but you're not supposed to tell them that

That's the best part of the whole thing to me. A few years ago it was a running joke with my bandmates (before it became an internet meme, even) and we even played a hybrid version of the two songs in practice, where the lyrics are seamlessly integrated.

The same Marleau who has 26 goals in his past four postseason runs (51 games)? He can play in the playoffs.
-
They are a paper tiger in that they will once again put together a seemingly strong regular season and then promptly fold in the postseason, as per their usual arrangement. I don't care if they go 8-0 vs. Anaheim, the Ducks will kick their asses when it matters if they play head-to-head. I'd much rather see Anaheim draw the Sharks.
-
The Stars are a paper tiger. The Ducks will eat them alive in the postseason. We should hope for Dallas to get their head out of their collective ass and win the division instead.

Gaborik is the player who comes closest to having Bure's ability to handle the puck effectively at warp speed.

I think it's gotta be Madison Square Garden or Nassau Coliseum. But those are the only three remaining without corporate-sponsored names.

Maybe we'll get lucky one of these days. Or they could play the Silvertips...

If Pronger is healthy enough to board a guy (and get away with it), he's healthy enough for someone to do whatever the F they want to his jaw in return, IMO.
-
Does that include Game 7?
-
Haha! You got called on your BS, just live with it. You said the guy was a total scrub. I thought it was worth pointing out that he is actually best in the NHL.

Garon is the best goalie in the league in the shootout (due no doubt to excellent lateral mobility), but thanks for playing.
