What's with all these games against Boston right away? We have two pre-season games: Sept 27 and Oct 4. Then we turn right around and start the season against them Oct. 9 and then AGAIN on Oct. 15. The same nonsense happened last year with pre-season games against Boston on Sept 19 and 21. Then Oct 5 and 14.

I look forward to seeing your nonexistent proposals. Also, I await your link to the article where it was stated this arena is seen as THE key to revitalizing a downtown area. If anything the excitement comes from moving the Wings right next to the Tigers and Lions, taking care of several blocks of nothingness... and it clearly can't hurt to put something new and significant on Woodward, in the very area where things have been growing. Not to mention, Joe Louis Arena does need to go.

Easier said than done. We barely beat them in our own building, now we'll be in theirs. Granted, their crowd probably doesn't care all that much at this point. They just want this season put out of its misery.

I'll be there tonight with my dad. I look forward to it! We have tickets to 8 home games this month so I do hope the boys can keep the streak alive and make some sort of playoff push despite all the injuries.

It's about time for some more hockey! We've played twice in the last eight days. I'm looking forward to this one, even with the late start time.

I don't see us going far in the playoffs, but I sure would like to at least MAKE the playoffs to keep the streak going. We don't want it to look like we can't handle the East after dominating the West for so long. If the playoffs started today, we'd have a Wild Card slot.

I was at the game last night.. My third game this season and witnessed my third loss. We are 3-2-3 at home.. What the heck guys? They are 6-3 on the road. We have a lot of home games this month.. Gotta turn it around!

I prefer to watch games from home but my dad bought a full season package when the Wings were moved to the Eastern Conference so now we have to go all the time. I don't mind it as much, but my wife doesn't like going. She's pregnant, which makes the seats extra hard to deal with. The only real issues we have are those folks, mentioned elsewhere in this thread, that get up and down constantly throughout the game. There are some people, two rows in front of us, who sit patiently throughout the entire intermission and as soon as play starts, they get up. Man, is food and beer THAT important? To save on costs, we never eat at the stadium. And when one beer costs as much as parking, we don't bother with that either. My biggest problem at games and other events are the a$$holes who are unaware how damn loud their whistling is? Who the heck doesn't know people don't want their ears pierced with their rediculously loud & constant whistling? What good does that do? Do you think the team really plays better when someone up in the rafters is whistling? It's hard to "enjoy the game" when you are going deaf. Last year there the two seats in front of us were taking up by incredibly large people. How large? Well, one guy had a ziplock bag of bacon in his coat pocket. They would always violently throw their heads back at close shots, etc. then give us dirty looks when they broke our knees with their skulls.

I was at the game last night. Most people, me included, were more into checking the Tigers score on their phones. Can't remember the last time I went to a game where the Wings were out-shot. Only one real power play (the first was about 10 seconds long) and it looked more like a Phoenix power play. A lot of close calls, though, the game really could have gone either way. Hopefully we pick up the intensity a bit on Saturday.

Nice win. Exciting stuff. I was worried about our offense but it really came through at the end. The Wings aren't used to ugly wins like these.

Nice to see Franzen had four shots on the net. Hopefully these guys are finally thinking about not passing so much. We took 7 penalties in two periods, which is quite unusual, but we killed them all off. That has to be good for our PK confidence. I'm spoiled by baseball where your team plays practically every day. I always have to get used to the return of hockey when, next week for instance, you can have 4 days off between games.

I've been lurking for years and finally decided to join the forum. Seems as good a day as any! Very excited to see the Wings in the East. Looking forward to a great season.
