I do agree with many others in the sense that if weiss was at the 15-20 point mark like he should be wed be atop the easetern conference.
-
You can say that last part again! Never thought id hear anyone utter the words "thank god for franzen" lol

Yessir! 93-13-44 8-90-11 14-18-21 71-25-20
-
I was waiting for someone to post this!! Yesss! This lines gonna score tn forsure.
-
Whoops my bad!! Didnt know, I'll stop!
-
Ehh agree to disagree, i think our 3 are better defensively. If it those 2 lines played eachother i think ours would have the edge.
-
When everyones healthy: Best possible lineup IMHO Z-Dats-Alfie Nyq-Weiss-Franzen Abby-helm-Tats Miller-Andy-Bert 1st line is more skilled than any other in the league. 2nd has great scoring (if weiss gets going). 3rd is too much speed to handle. 4th is honestly not bad considering its a 4th line.

At this rate a shooter trainer would give jimmy a run for his money. That said, i have high hopes for mrazek as well. Anyone else think after Gus' big season he'll go somewhere else for a starting job/more money?

I absolutely know its far fetched but in response to the article i posted i just figured itd give a little more insight as to why these claims may have been made. Hey it was my first time doing a stats post, i was proud of myself okay?! But yes, Im defintely one of the more optimistic around here in regards to the youngins. Im just excited about our team for the first time in a while, getting to see players that arent 40 years old and useless gets me all warm n fuzzy inside.

Datsyuk rookie season (23y/o): 70GP, 11G 24A 35Pts. Zetterberg rookie season (22y/o): 79GP, 22G 22A 44Pts. Nyquist rookie season (24y/o): On pace for 60GP 27G 20A 47Pts Tatar rookie season (23y/o): On pace for 74GP 19G 23A 42Pts Obviously these on pace stats are merely projections but look at how strikingly close the kids numbers are to Dats/Z. In the early scoutings of Datsyuk from 2000, he was labeled by scouts as a "potential 2nd line center". Look where he ended up 13 years later? One of the best to ever play the game. The point I'm trying to make here is, not only is it somewhat possible that Nyquist and Tatar become the next Eurotwins. If stats and stats alone are any indication, its highly probable. Especially given the fact that the kids get to learn from and play with Z/Dats just as they got to play with Hull,Shanny,Yzerman Etc.

Shawn Thornton attacks Orpik (leaves game on stretcher)

Well look at the bright side, we wont have to face Neal on saturday! Definitely helps our chances! -
This is entirely too true, i forgot how much he looked like a center on the wing.
-
That PP goal he had off the faceoff the other night was a very stamkos/ovie way to score and thats what it reminded me of. Pure scoring. Putting him with pasha would undoubtedly be a sight to see if babs ever puts them together.
-
I agree entirely with everything you said, especially about the players theyll become. You can tell tatar loves to score (more than any player ive ever seen) he also has a shoot first mentality and the quick shot to match. Definite pure goal scorer characteristics. Nyquist on the other hand has great defense and also is a pass first kindof guy, you can tell hes learning alot from pasha.

Id like to see weiss-datsyuk-alfie while were still missing Helm/Z. Might as well try n get him going with 2 great players now bcuz if he still sucks when the games start to really matter he'll get buried on the 4th line. If you cant produce with 2 of the greatest players of all time then just go home. Weiss-Dats-Alfie Nyquist-Franzen-Tatar Abby-Andy-Bert Miller-Emdog-Sammy/Cleary Just until helm gets back in 5 games and everything changes again and weiss moves another spot down the depth chart.

That quote had me chuckling as well.

I definitely see them both surpassing Fil/Hudler just based on their compete level and how well theyre doing as rookies. With more experience, a full season of starts, and steady top 6 playing time they'll only improve. With top minutes next year i see them both capable of producing 50-60+ point seasons and becoming mainstays on our top 6. We could use all the speed and tenacity we can get with these "veterans" taking up space.

Per khan: Helm to return in a week/week and a half.
-
Also this just in: Jimmy starts tomorrow at Florida and Helms gear is packed for the trip, making him questionable for tuesday.
-
1st line has no speed, 2nd line has no chemistry, 3rd will more than likely be the best line by far, 4th line is just scraps. For some reason anywhere u put weiss he makes the line worse. Really needs to pull his head out of his ass before hes banished to the 4th line for good when helmer gets back.
-
Well in that case i'll take it as a compliment lol
-
Well thats always the case isnt it? I just mean howie will only get ceonsecutive starts if he wins, otherwise it seems like against the good teams its gus' job to lose at this point.
-
I think if howie wins tm we'll see him go against TB on thurs, if not we'll see Gus. Either way tho i think they'll play Gus vs Pitt.
