Abdelkader doesn't "fight" much, but he is known around the leage as an enforcer. Now that he is scoring he fills that role pretty well.

Red Wings should just trade Howard, Helm, and your 2021 1st round pick for McDavid. It's not hard. I did it in NHL 15. (FWIW I had already traded my 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 first round pick)

Speaking of Hammond he just won again 2-1 in OT. Most exciting game I've seen all year as he moves to 12-0-1 to start his career. Ottawa's AHL team is in Binghamton where I lived until August and I can say Hammond was very rarley impressive. Compared the Lehner and Bishop he was not good at all.

Watching the Philly broadcast and they just said Giroux hasn't scored an ES goal at home all year and Voracek hasn't scored an ES goal since December, Unreal.

As I said Quincy starts in the offensive zone only 1 time out of 20 less than Smith, so the adjustment would be very very small. I don't see Tatar as a 4th liner. I do think his 2-way game is solid as he plays well in his own zone too.

Never thought I'd see the day where the LGW's community would be pushing for lines that included Helm and Abby in the top 6. Edit: If Franzen is in a motivated, puck retrieving mood you can swap him and Helm. When he is on his game he's as much a game changer as anyone on this team.

Stats like this don't explain everything and Brendan Smith starts in the offensive zone 12/20 times and Quincy 11/20 but this shows to me Smith is a lot better than people realize

I think everyone on this board is in love with stay at home defensman who don't mess up and don't make plays either. I've read it before here where someone pointed out our young defensman who get called up look good because that's how they play. Brendan Smith can move the puck well and has looked good when paired with Kronwall or right-handed defensman. Quincy and E just play a much safer style and the "eye test" makes them look better for that reason. Smith is our 3rd best defensman when paired with a righty or with Kronwall. He's not good when paired with someone who can't get the puck out of the zone like Q or E.
