I watched a bit of the NYR vs. NYI game and the Islanders were flying, tenacious and organized. Saturday is going to be probably the biggest test of the season so far Imho.

I wish I could see these standings in a meme form with the caption having one of the talking head analysts saying the Red Wings will barely make the playoffs. I know I heard it somewhere. Like Quincey. If he has a rare bad play this season my Twitter blows up with all the hate. It took him a while to adjust but he's reliable and it's nice to see. I think he's a big part of our surprising defense this year. I wish we could land Yandle. Do we really have a true offensive defenseman in the pipes other than Sproul? I wish we could part with some defensive D prospects to snag him.

Thank you for posting this! I love the part where he says no goals were scored against his team while he was on the ice in that game. Regardless of how one feels about his statements, he is refreshingly honest. Not to ever take anything away from the Miracle on ice victory, it is very interesting to see how even though the Russians played like a well oiled machine in those days, they were divided. It's Incredible to learn that probably played a big part in them losing. Long post here sorry. I want to add that Slava was such an incredible player. Whenever I watch old YouTube videos of those Soviet teams, it seems he never left the ice. He was facing world class Legends and he was leading the way on D and offensively. He's on my all time Wings D pairings with #16.

Trying to figure out how to post pics so I figured this one of Gordie fishing that I saw on Twitter would be a good first one. Kind of easy to see why dudes were scared to mess with him, don't think many were built like that in the 50's.

Lol I forgot my Ritalin. Howard still needs to prove himself in the playoffs in my eyes. I can see how that can be debated though.

I understand he's a rookie goalie but I actually feel more comfortable with Petr in net. He really is a great puck handler and breaks up dump ins way better than Jimmy. Howard's been great this year but I would love to see Mrazek as our playoff starter, I have a feeling he gets better the higher the pressure is, hence the fact he's playing better this year in the NHL than AHL. I probably need to calm down a tad but I've been super impressed.
