My thought is that DD is more defensive and Smith is more offensive. Babcock plays DD on the PP to try to improve his offense skills and plays Smith on the pk to improve his defensive skills.

Just to play devil's advocate here, why not Chicago then? Blackhawks are O6, bears were one of the first NFL teams, then had the greatest basketball player ever on the Bulls and two baseball teams with a lot of history.

Pretty sure he would have to remain on the wings roster for 30 days, then pass through waivers again to go down to GR. However, if the wings are able to claim him, that means 20 or so teams didn't.
