Tampa got a lucky bounce in game 7 versus Detroit. That was the difference. The Wings are not far away from being a legit cup contender. We can beat any team in the East. Tampa will get better. So will the Wings, Habs, Isles, Caps, Blue Jackets. There's not much separating teams. -

I'd say it's a move for Grand Rapids. Kenny is taking a flyer on this guy. If he plays well maybe he gets a call up when injuries hit. -

I can't see Kenny doing anything else. We have too many forwards as it is especially if Mule returns. We also have a glut of dmen. I think waiving Andersson and/or Callahan is most likely.

I ask myself many things. Asking myself if Hanks next contract will be a problem is not one of them. Kenny will give him a long term deal worth more than he is right now. But in 2 years time it will look like a bargain. He did the same with Dats,Z and Kronwall.

That isn't true. Holland signed Derian Hatcher that summer. While he turned out to be a $10 mil buyout after the lockout, at the time he was one of the most sought after UFAs on the market. After Feds signed with Anaheim, Kenny signed Ray Whitney who did not fit on the Wings and he too was bought out. Kenny later traded for Robert Lang just before the trade deadline to replace Feds. The first round pick in that trade used by the Caps turned out to be...Mike Green! Full circle...

Keith Primeau was traded by the Wings to Hartford for Shanahan who won 3 Cups with Detroit. After the rumoured Lindros-Brind'Amour feud, Rod was traded to Carolina for Primeau. Rod wins the Cup in Carolina in 2006. Funny how things turn out sometimes.

I agree with the articles. Quincey is the most likely to move. He's a UFA next summer, would clear over 4 mil in cap space. kindl has no value with his 2.5 mil a season salary. Smith would be moved for the right player but Kenny will not just give him away. Marchenko would replace Q this season. Ouelette would replace Kindl.
