Does it really bother you that much?

A big reason why Graves was so successful for the Rangers was because he played on the same line as Messier. When Graves scored 50 goals for the Rangers he said himself that it was mainly because of playing with Messier. To me Messier will always be an Oiler. He won 5 cups in Edmonton. He was a key cog, the leader for the Rags cup win in 1994 but he was also the leader of all those great Oilers teams in the 80s

Franzen is the anti-Christ.
-
His name was Warren Young. He scored 40 goals for Pittsburgh playing with Mario Lemieux. Scored 22 goals for the Wings. He ended up back in Pittsburgh and never did anything after.
-
I'd consider Jagr a power forward. His game is suited to using his tree trunk legs to hold onto the puck which compliments his high hockey IQ and elite high end skill to dominate. Well did. Which shows how he can still play into his 40s and still be effective.

Cam Neely was the ultimate power forward.

Either way, Mule was a key cog in the Red Wings machine. Can he still be? I don't know. He did pretty well for a guy who when he came over here was pegged to be a 4th line centre.

Tony to Uncle June: I had another uncle? I always thought when my dad mentioned he had a feeble minded brother he was talking about you!

Free agency didn't really start until the late 80s and early 90s. Before that most player movement was made via trade. I recall when Shanahan was signed as a RFA by the Blues and as compensation the Devils were awarded Scott Stevens. After that the RFA compensation scale was introduced.

My fawtha was a strong powerful man and she wore him down to a tiny little nub.
-
You be nice to your fawtha. Lol

Isles win Cup. Iron Sheik WWF champion. Orioles win World Series. Raiders win Super Bowl. Hartford Whalers and Quebec Nordiques. Oilers-Flames epic rivalry. Good times.

I see you want 1983 back.

Alexei Yashin.
-
That was the worst signing in the history of the universe.
-
I laughed when that blew up in the Avs faces. Forsberg, Selanne and Kariya. 3 great players but also 3 of the biggest divers in NHL history. Lol

Hatcher was a beast for Dallas especially in those playoff series vs Forsberg. His game was not suited for post lockout 2005-06. Big,mean and tough but was a slow skater. At the time most Wings fans were excited. It took away some of the sting when Feds signed with the Ducks. It just never worked out unfortunately.
-
Derian Hatcher. Signed him to a huge deal. Plays 4 games. He gets injured. Illitch paid him $10 mil to go away so we could get under the 39 mil cap in 05-06.

Howard was on his way to winning the Vezina before he was injured.

Stats have their place. But it's not everything.

I hope both Jurco and Pulkkinen get regular playing time. I'd hate to see them be on a rotation. One or the other in the line-up.
-
Mike Gartner scored over 700 goals in his career. Is he better than Mario Lemieux, Steve Yzerman or Mark Messier?
-
Kopecky was disappointing as a Red Wing. Which is my point. Hopefully Jurco doesn't emulate Kopecky's time as a Red Wing. Higher expectations and lower results.

Any relation to Peter Russo from House of Cards? Lol Sounds like a decent signing to me.
