I hear you. I dont want to lose Mantha either. But the fact is we are not going to get a top quality ufa to be for a package of things you can do without. Helm, Ouellet, and a 3rd is going to get you Zidlicky. Not Byfuglien.

This is why we dont get Yandle. Why we dont get Niskanen. Etc. Because - YES, the other team DOES want something of value in return. Helm is not valueable anymore. Ouellet and Sproul cant make our team, so why would another NHL team be excited about them? Picks -ok. 1st round picks are valueable. If we really want Byfuglien NOW, the deal starts with Mantha and a first, and then probably includes one of Smith, Kindl, or Marchenko. If we say "hell no", then Byfuglien goes to Buffalo or Edmonton at a later date. If I were the GM, I'd be willing to part with Kindl, Mantha, and a first for Byfuglien.

We got beat after a 6'5" 235 lb defenseman slashed Glendening and knocked him out for 10 minutes of game 6. And in those 10 minutes, Tampa turned the tide and the series. We won when Abdelkader concussed a ducks player and turned the tide in that 2013 first round series. Who are you keeping your head up for outside of Kronwall, Abdelkader, and Datsyuk?

The NHL is for 6'3" 225 lb guys who like contact. We haactan abundance of 180 lb sissy boys. The injuries dont surprise me at all. We always choose to be the "get hit" in the hit or get hit equation.

You either take the play to the other yeam, or they take it to you. If the refs arent doing their jobs (last night), then someone has to smash a guy's head in to turn the tide (abdelkader 2013 vs ducks). Like it or not, that's NHL hockey. The players are in a cage in the NHL, as the speed, size, and strength of the average player has grown exponentially with no changes to the rink size. If the referees decide to allow clitch and grab, all our skill means jack sh!t. We saw that last night clear as day. The Canes are terrible, but they were allowed to mangle all of our forwards for 60 straight minutes. Someone on the Wings needs to step up and knock an opposing player into next week when this happens. Or we just get stuck watching pair skating ×5.

I just dont understand why this team accepts it without any fight. How do 20 players just put their heads down and put their tails between their legs and accept it? Get in a God Damn Fight or something. Do something that shows the fans you dont like losing. Tonight was just pathetic. Complete waste of time. If they cant show up with more grit and enthusiasm than that, just forfeit the fricking game and save us all the agony og watching that crap.

This loss is solely on Jeff Blashill. That was the WORST officiated hockey game I have ever seen. A good coach would have called a timeout after the first 5 hooks, slashes, and holds were let go and let the refs know that one of the hurricanes was going to end up with a broken wrist if they didnt start calling penalties. This team is so soft, it's embarrassing. No ***** pride.

That's why Howard isn't our starter now. Because he's made so many bad puck handling gaffs vs good puck handling plays that everyone is ready to crucify him when he gets the urge to use his stick. Mrazek, on the other hand, saved the day the other night with his play in the net and then won us the game with his puck handling. This one mistake is easily forgiven. And by easily, I mean, we are all already over it.

Have cut down on the odd man rushes. Thats good at least.
