I get what you are saying, but Datsyuk and Zetterberg were 2 of our best, if not the 2 best, penalty killers on our team for years. So I will partially agree with you. Let the donkey get beat up 60 games a season. But come March, you want your thoroughbreds in there if you have them. Speed kills on the pk. Helm, Athanasiou, Larkin, and Glendening are going to be the top 4 upfront guys on the pk. I don't want any of these guys getting hit in the face with a puck, but I do want them out there to disrupt the opposing team's pp. Lastly, when is this 2nd line center position for Athanasiou going to open up? Maybe Never. Svechnikov, Larkin, Nosek, Sheahan, Glendening, Helm, Zetterberg, Datsyuk. The Wings are absolutely LOADED down the middle. Move Athanasiou and Helm to the 2 wings of Glendening and have an absolute killer 4th line. Pure speed.

I'm serious. I dont think he's one of our 12 best forwards. I guess that's not a popular opinion around here, but that's how I see it.

I think its the pics from round 2 on that have really delayed the oilers' success. They should have 3 or 4 guys from rounds 2 and 3 maturing by now, but where are they?

DeKeyser is going to play with Green. I'd like to see Ericsson and Quincey moved for pics and Franzen, Miller, and Andersson all sent down. I know that's NEVER going to happen, but I'd ice this squad: Zetterberg-Larkin-Abdelkader Tatar-Datsyuk-Jurco Nyquist-Sheahan-Mantha Glendening-Helm-Athanasiou Richards/Ferraro DeKeyser-Green Kronwall-Marchenko Smith-Kindl Ouellett Mrazek Howard I like the youth and speed. And I'd be eyeballing Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter HARD right now. Kings are about to have a firesale soon. Getting 9 mil off the books by unloading Quincey and Ericsson, which they need to do soon anyways, might not be a bad idea.

Agreed. My favorite thing so far is the offensive pressure we are applying taking pressure off our goalies. The opponents have really had to earn their goals so far. Howard and Mrazek havent been at their best, but when was the last time we had the ability to win without our goalie playing lights out? Been a while.

I think this is a good assessment. In simple terms, the players seemed to be tight under Babcock. And they seem to be more loose under Blashill. Not in an undisciplined way, though. In a more creative and free flowing way.

Their defensemen are absolutely scary. Huge and mobile. Poor man's Victor Hedman x 4 + Ekblad and Campbell.

Fair assessment. I have just noticed Smith and Kindl using the boards for clearing attempts more effectively, where they were attempting the more dangerous play to not give up possession in the past.

Those 2 concepts go hand in hand. Good coaching makes a player better. I wasn't trying to take anything away from Blash.
