Who would you pick Bill berzzzzzzench?
Kane is so fricking good ON the ice, but the knucklehead factor is not dismissible. I think if I'm looking at long term (Blackhawks), I take Toews. If I'm looking at short term (Olympics), I take Kane. Tough to compare against each other because of the different elements. They compliment each other as a pair, and I think that's really what we lack. We have the responsible, dynamic centerman in Datsyuk, but we dont have the all out offensive dynamo (Yzerman) anymore. I miss 19. He hit the 7 the best I've ever seen a player from 10 feet away do it.

Yzerman was killing penalties and blocking shots well before 1996. I suggest you rent some old hockey videos.
I think you just need to read. I will get you started with this. It's a little nicer way of remembering it, even though it didn't go down quite as politely as Bowman makes it seem in his quote.

As some predicted all the "good" teams that were doing terrible earlier in the season (Tampa, Anaheim, Boston) are surging.
Im surprised by Boston, but not Tampa and Anaheim.

Yzerman was a complete player as well. Feds was just better defensively and a flashy guy. Fedorov was like the Datsyuk. Yzerman was like the Zetterberg.
Kane and Yzerman are nothing alike. Kane is just pure offense. Yzerman was a Selke winner and one of the best faceoff guys in the league. Not to mention he killed A LOT of penalties.
Yzerman was just like Kane until 1996. Prolific scorer, but not a super strong 200' game. Then Bowman said my way or the highway, and Stevie Y became a great 2 way player. Kane can be an offensive juggernaut without much focus on the backcheck because his team is so strong.

Toews is better all around player, like Feds. Kane is better pure offense player, like Yzerman.

I take Kane over Toews any day. Toews two way game is overrated, Kopitar and Bergeron will be getting selkes before Toews.

Newsflash to everyone - we SUCKED against Dallas too. Howard and 4 posts prevented 18 other guys from looking like a hellhole on ice 2 days ago. Tonight the shots are going in instead of clanking off posts. And lastly, you need defensemen that can play offense too. Marchenko is NOT a good fit to play with the other 4 defensemen who can only play defense right now, if thats what we want to call it. Blash better pull his head out and get Smith back in or this could turn into a tough stretch.

Does anyone know when Tatar and Nyquist come back from their season long injuries? Sure would be great to have guys who can score. Wait...
Ha ha ha. I cant stand those 2 guys anymore. They get punked by every good team we play. Then they get a 2 pt night when we play vancouver after vancover played st louis the day before, and everybody thinks their the next euro twins. I really wish we had some bigger faster guys.

Mrazek does not look confident at all... Pretty equal period. Seems like it's thesame guys every night that keep us from having any flow to our game. Tatar and Richards can't do anything with the puck and Larkin needs to simplify things
Tatar, Richards, Nyquist, and Sheahan are not ice openers. 2 defensemen can cover all 3 of them no problem. So put 3 of them togetheproblemyoure just done.
And Richards kills 2 rushes in a row, and puts his team on the chase. 4 straight shifts he's done that.

Richards has got to be benched. All the black hawks pressure has been caused by him.

That was the worst defensive collapse I have ever seen. Zero reason to fall that far back. Any of the three Blackhawks could have scored an easy goal there.
Richards just skates over to the bench like its no big deal that all the blackhawks are pushing up ice. Lazy ass play and bang.

Baseball has it's steroids era. Hockey has its Empty Net era. Gretzky gobbled up his points due to the goalie pads being 6 inches wide, the goalie jerseys being size 48s, and the goalies being 5'10" and standing up. Gretzky would be no better than Sidney Crosby in today's NHL at any point of his career. He'd probably lift weights and train to keep up with the times, but he would not score 100 pts in 2016. Forget about 200.
