MLive Quincey's coming back to Detroit. I'm guessing this means Kronwall will be out a little while...

Kronner's season is over, even if the Wings make it into June. There is no way Holland is going to risk a career-ending re-injury after signing this guy to what- four or five years? A hip injury is serious business and nothing to play around with. If this team manages to make it to the Cup Finals- which would be a miracle, IMO, with or without Nik- that's a good sign we don't need him so bad in the series to risk an even worse re-injury... I like Kronwall, I do, he reminds me a bit of Vladdie (though his positioning isn't as good yet as Vladdie's was), but I don't think he's so essential that losing him really hurts our playoff chances that much. We'll probably miss him on the PP more than anything, but as far as team D goes, I think Lilja and Quincey should be able to fill the void... Lids-Lilja/Markov Cheli- Lebda/Schneider Some random mix of the bottom four... Quincey- huge, energetic, filling out the extra minutes... Now just pray we don't lose another d-man.

TSN Sucks about Kronner... Hopefully the Lidstrom thing is just a day off in disguise...

Jason Williams has to be one of the worst players in the NHL.

Willie = Cousin of the Void. -
I like this idea. Send Dats and maybe another prospect- Hudler, Grigs?- for two scoring wingers. We need scoring wingers, not overpriced centermen and, as much as I like Pavel, he hasn't produced in the post-season (whether he's not durable enough to get to the playoffs healthy or what, he still hasn't produced) and Zetts and Lang have, plus he costs more than Zetterberg. If we could absorb the salaries of Nagy and Doan, we'd be giving up a valuable centermen, but Pavel will be asking for $4-5 mil minimum this summer. Why not dump him when we can something good in return?

Cleary's work ethic and aerobatic skills ( ) have made him one of my favorite Wings. This guy is the Wings' new #1 grinder, IMO. Hope we can re-sign him.

Liv likely to jump the pond, but not Grigorenko

Why dont the brass ever consider bringing Booter and Kopecky up and playing them together on a 3rd line? If Yzerman's gone, and maybe Williams, a cheap experiment with good upside? -
I emailed Sunaya Supurji (butchered, that) about McGrath- she does OHL stuff for a Toronto paper and for HockeyBUzz.com, and she said almost exactly the same thing. Because he's kind of a small fry, there is concern that he won't be able to hang with the big boys in the years ahead. Given his OHL performance, I'd say at least give the kid a shot in GR. He's obviously got the skills and some GR time would give him a chance to prove himself physically and mentally. Hopefully he pans out- it'd be nice to see the Wings develop a scoring threat out of the Canadian leagues for a change.

"Hejduk," as in "Hedge-Duck" (or "Hay-Duke")...

This is probably just general scouting for depth at the deadline rather than specifically scouting one player like Niinimaa (butchered that, I'm sure) with an eye to getting him in the near future.
