Right but 2 years $4 million is a fair offer, And if in those 2 years he has two very good seasons just gives him more leverage to get a bigger contract after those 2 years are up. Honestly $4.5 for years years isn't that bad of an offer and maybe something he would consider. Exactly this is pretty much what i was thinking as well, Take a little cheaper deal put up points play great and get bigger money in a year or two.

Yup Josh Anderson signed for 3 years $5.5 million or an AAV of $1.85 million and Holland offered AA fair market at 2 years $3.8 million give him the extra year like Anderson and be done with it. Lol good man, How can AA say no to that. After Josh Anderson signing for $1.85M per for 3 years, I honestly hope that AA's agent Darren Ferris still doesn't think that AA is worth $2.5 million with Anderson signing for less then what Holland offered AA he's pretty much has to accept that deal.

So it sounds like from what both Mackey and Friendman are saying that Holland has a deal in place to send Riley Sheahan to Pittsburgh for Pouliot+pick, But it all hinges on AA resigning and the club offered him $1.9 million and AA and his agent are seeking $2.5 million so they're like $600,000 apart maybe they meet in the middle for $2.2 million for 2 years they could do it and still have cap left over. To either sign Parenteau or Booth once they put Sproul on LTIR or waive him.

So $600,000 apart something has to give.

As much as i would love to add John Tavares, I just don't see it happening. Holland would need to wheel and deal to shed enough salary to afford him. And that's not Holland's style Tavares will at least get 7 years $77 million on the open market and we will need probably around $8 million to $9 million to resign both Larkin and Mantha and who knows if we will resign Mrazek would need to move Howard to do it. It would be close to Toronto so family and friends near by plus with the opening of Little Caesars Arena he could possibly think about it.
