Literally nobody said that. All people have suggested is you dont rush prospects if they're not ready. Especially if your main goal is to develop youth and not win now. There are players like Larkin who are ready and there are players like Turgeon who need more time. Surround them with quality leadership and good role models at both levels and they should have a greater chance to flourish. It's not a new concept.

I can't imagine many scenarios where that would make sense for us. Might as well just keep AA and draft a defencemen. ...and I'm not even a huge AA fan.

No one. AA is not going to fetch a defenceman who "would make our D significantly better." He doesn't have that kind of value. Good defencemen are expensive and would cost alot more than AA. I don't think we're willing to give up other picks or decent prospects. No, adding Nyquist does not get the deal done.

Technically...right. However I do think Holland includes Bertuzzi when talking about the next generation of 19-22yr olds. If only there was roster management guru we could ask...

Leave it to Helene to get the quote wrong... He even clarified it after that he was referring to the opening night roster. Which did not include Bertuzzi so technically he would be included in those numbers. Which makes more sense for Holland...

Pot calling the kettle black... Last time I checked, the goaltender was still part of the team. Takes a whole group. They fail when the pressure is on. Doesn't matter how. They have not got it done. Period.

I think you're missing the point. Ericsson and Daley play the hard minutes. We don't have any defenceman who are anywhere near ready to take on those responsibilities. You don't just throw prospects into the deep end and hope they swim. That's how you ruin a prospect's confidence and development.

Nyquist has actually been one of our most consistent players over the past half decade. 5 straight years of at least 40-50 points. Pretty good value for 4.75m.
