Check out my Red Wings Stanley Cup Championship Newspapers!
WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH replied to WMUCarGuy's topic in General
Free press they sell the front page of the wins for like 20 dollars and they are much nicer. -
Its too much for being 10 months before his contract expires. I could see 8.25 if this was June 30 and wanted to keep him but giving him what he wanted really shows that management was worried he wanted out. Hope for there sake the cap doesnt drop in the next few years.

i have a feeling that Detroit will make a trade this summer involving lebda and one of quincey, meech, or eriksson...we'll see though -
that was on hockeybuzz.com, not a creditable source i know but anyone else here this?

sure it wasnt "lets go RACING"???

ruptured spleen, done for playoffs per tsn.ca

2nd time during the playoffs he took a shot at a players manhood. I think any goalie who does that should get a 1 game suspension cause if its not fair that a player cant defend himself from cheap shots like that

Is babs serious when he says he wont make a change (maltby for helm). I would think maltby's experience would easily get him in the line up without a question when he is healthy.

NHL looking at a 56.3M Salary Cap Next season?
WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH replied to YoungGuns1340's topic in General
Some one remind what the point of the strike was. Im not bitching on Detroits side but i thought it was to even out the playing field. The year before the strike average team payroll was only 45 million...thats with new york, detroit, colorado all spending around 80 million each. Good going nhl -
February 18, Detroit Free Press: "It doesn't look too serious," Hahn said, "but he is being kept out as a precaution." Lidstrom crashed into the boards with his left shoulder and back and dropped to the ice, sitting awkwardly. He tried to get up, clearly couldn't stand on his own legs, and within seconds referee Mike Hasenfratz skated over and held Lidstrom against the boards and stopped play. Lidstrom was helped off the ice by trainer Piet Van Zant. The fact the Wings already are saying it's not too serious is obviously very good news, but at the very least, knee injuries usually take at least two weeks.

Why Osgood can't start in the playoffs
WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH replied to redeyedwings's topic in General
I was talking about this during the allstar with my friends...no matter how good of a season osgood has and finishes with i still have that feeling #39 will be starting the playoffs. -
I wouldnt count on it. If they play the southeast at all it has to be in Detroit this year since 2 years ago they went to all the southeast division teams to play and last year they didnt play them.

Rafalski a Red Wing: 5-years, $30-million
WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH replied to d-city's topic in General
my gut feeling on this is that Detroit knows next year that Lidstrom might reitre and they needed a solid Dman to anchor the future...If you think about it next with chelios and Lidstrom possibly gone they would have been very young and inexpierenced...this s a move to give Detroit a #1 man after lidstrom leaves to avoid any drop off. -
Why are you guys so mad at him... he is near the end of his career...he had a house out in LA and he took a deal that was the best available and he is able to retire there and let his kids get settled in a place they have lived before....where would u rather retire...hollywood or Detroit???? He was great on the wings and i wish him much luck
-
wow i remember the year before the strike the average team salary was somewhere in the mid 40 millions...the strike did what???
-
He wasnt the most popular wing the past 2 seasons but he played his ass off tonight in his last game as a wing...Thanks for the Memories and good luck Roberto

Babchuk on the Trade Market Again
WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
his attitude problem was b\c he got screwed over. He was playing top 4 minutes and was one of if not the best Dman while hedican and Kaberle were out with injuries...they come back and they felt it was easier to send a player with a 2 way contract down then healthy scratching hutchinson or tanabe. I would have had the same attitude problem...if u know your one of the best and the send you down to save money and not play the better Dman, thats a problem i would have. -
Babchuk on the Trade Market Again
WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
YES grab this kid...i saw him play all year and he was right in his argument of being a top 4 Dman last year. The canes screwed him and he would be a welcome site on the team...his shot is equal to schnieders. -
I think just the prospect...if he resigns then its a 2nd round pick..Detroit had to go to the finals i believe for Florida to get the 1st rounder
-
Does no one want Markov back??? he was as solid as lidstrom in my opinion

smart hockey girls= yes...remember...only the red wings themselves control the outcome of a game, not you or any fan.
