True, but when does Donald Sterling decide he wants to pocket his profit on a good team and decide not to re-sign all his key guys. I hope they stay competitive. The Clippers have always been on the brink. I think they have a chance at being a good team with Elton Brand in there. Brand is a hell of a player

Shut up.... What if the Lions cant sign anyone even with Martz as our offensive coordinator? Is he good enough to make us better with the talent we have? I mean, I see an offense on the field that should be pretty good, at least against the weaker defenses, but they always look so damn inept. Didn't Detroit pass on Ben Roethlisberger to draft another WR? THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I dont know what it is but certain teams in sports never turn things around. Clippers, Cardinals (AZ), Lions, Brewers....the list goes on. Detroit should be very competitive but they have made piss poor decisions with the Fords owning the team and they let a bad situation get worse by bringing in Millen. Your new head coach has received rave reviews and you have a mad scientist behind him who will have the offense in full speed.

I dont want to see bad football on Thanksgiving. They need to yank the game from the Lions and they shouldnt have to give anything back in return. The league sets the schedule each season, not the teams.

Its threads like this that make me cherish being a Steeler fan. Our biggest offseason concerns are finding a new WR/QB combo player to replace Randle El and getting a new safety to replace Hope. Everything else is pretty much a depth addition unless we are able to grab a DE to replace KVO. Looks like they may get the CBA approved today in Dallas. That would raise the cap number another 10-11 million

Sad to see a guy go so young. I hear he really put on the LBs and that was a contributing factor in his stroke. Kirby was a joy to watch

Latest mock showing the Lions drafting Cutler. I dont know that he will fall to Detroit.....or that the team wouldnt be best served by drafting another need. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5369094 9. Lions Jay Cutler QB Vanderbilt Joey Harrington has received support from new coaching staff, but Cutler is a potential franchise QB with a huge arm.

Brees will be 100%.

Anyone read all 72 pages?

Martz should be able to open up that offense. That could help Joey, could also hurt him, but if Martz is confident in him thats a good start

Seeing as how Ricky is in India and this was not for weed, I am going to reserve judgement. I think he cleaned himself up. Maybe he took one of those legal supplements that are illegal if found in your body. Anyone can get these things at the local GNC.

Honestly, the Pistons didnt need that #2 pick. You only had it because of a trade, not for the reasons the other teams in the lottery had lotter picks. So from the standpoint of drafting a player who has PROVEN his ability in 2, 3 or 4 seasons of college ball or by picking a kid who was barely 18 at the time and hasn't shown he can play with grown men, the Pistons messed up. But still, how much more can you add to your team? You have all the pieces in place. Drafting a stud like Wade, Anthony or whoever else has done well from that draft would have created a situation where you have a backup player crying for more PT and for a good reason.

I wonder when General Managers are going to start drafting kids who have shown themselves to be elite players as opposed to drafting a prospect, see Kwame Brown, Darko, etc for future reference. This has been a major problem from a quality standpoint in the league.

Coaching pretty much lost the game for Seattle, I've heard people say that games like that might keep Holmgren out of the HOF. 1 Super Bowl win in Green Bay and 2 as offensive coordinator under Bill Walsh in Frisco. The Walrus is a lock for Canton. He took a perennial loser (see Lions) and made them a Super Bowl worthy team. Thats no small feat.

cowher needed to win the big game. until then he was a choke artist coach and couldnt lead his team to victory. not true anymore I never realized the coach went out onto the field and played the games. Its a shame Cowher went out and threw 3 INTs in every AFCCG they lost over his 14 year career. Big difference between having Kordell Stewart, Tommy Maddox, Kent Graham, Neil O'Donnell, Bubby Brister, etc and Ben Roethlisberger leading the team. You need a Franchise QB to win the big game. Cowher did all he had done with guys who really weren't all that great, until now.

Cowher is a lock......even before he got the ring....Cowher was a lock. Best record of any coach over the past 14 years. And he did it without a franchise QB. Hard to judge the rest of the players individually as most are too young to be considered. Alan Faneca will more than likely go down as a first ballot HOF'r. Ward doesnt have the flashy numbers, but if they vote based on his game he will get in. He is the most complete WR in football. He isn't Moss, Harrison or TO. He just gets the job done and with a smile to boot. The only other guy I see right now as a lock if his career stays the path is Big Ben. 26-4 over 2 years with a ring. Dude is only going to get better. Polamalu also deserves a look, but its too early to say just yet.

It just doesn't get any better....except for the Chase for SIX

It could have gone the other way too, it could have been worse...Like Stevens fumble that was blown dead. Just to be on the safe side......This adds #5 to the collection.

Seattle moved the ball in the first half but they didnt do jack with the field position. Their punter kept kicking the ball into the end zone. Their receiver Jackson broke a Super Bowl record for most reception yards caught OUT OF BOUNDS. The only reason it looks as if Seattle dominated the first half was because our offense was HORRID last night. 0 first downs inthe first quarter, 1 yard passing. We had 3 plays on offense all night that decided the game. Ward's catch on the scramble, Fast Willie on the 75 yard TD run, and Randle El on the reverse TD pass. I guess Holmgren missed that play from the game tape. We ran the exact same play against the Clowns earlier this year in a nationally televised game. As far as the new balls go, the NFL brings a brand new out of the box football in for every play for the Super Bowl. The balls are not wiped down with a towel as are regular season or playoff footballs. If you know the story, you know Ben is playing with a broken thumb that is going to require surgery and has been wearing a splint in his glove since the Indy loss. Wearing a glove hurt him in trying to grip the ball. He was off all night. The last time he played this poorly was against NE in the AFCCG a year ago. This was not the same QB who clipped the top 3 seeds in the AFC 3 weeks in a row with a 68% completion rate. Randle El doesn't have a broken thumb. That pass he threw was perfect. Doesn't matter, the only thing that matters now is that scoreboard. Its etched in stone.

As did we have opportunities to blow Seattle out. That weak throw by Big Ben should have gone over our WR's shoulder for 6 and a 21-3 lead. Seattle was LUCKY they even found the end zone last night the way our D played. Very similar to how the Indy game unfolded for us....minus the horrid overturned INT call.

Penalties are part of the game. Our defense created those penalties by playing Pittsburgh football. There were some questionable calls, no doubt. The pass interference on Jackson would not have been called had it not been RIGHT in front of the ref. The ref got to see the push off, end of story. Our defense won this game. It was obvious that Big Ben struggled with the new footballs used throughout the game. He had some balls float on him and the 2nd INT just slipped right out of his hand. Had his hand not had a cracked thumb requiring him to wear a splint and glove, he makes that pass. Pretty sad for the NFC when our C game on offense beats Seattle. We bent, but didnt break. I think that was Seattle's best shot minus the penalties. Seattle has a penchant for dropping balls. Stevens got what he deserved by dropping 3 balls last night. Oh yeah One For The Thumb WHO RIDE? WE RIDE

Today sucks, tomorrow will suck until 3:30 pacific. This game needs to get going already.

I think Peja has been playing hurt. The change of scenery will help his game, no doubt. Artest is a cancer. He will rot away in Cow Town

Its only a matter of time before they get their s**t together and back to national prominence in basketball. I'm afraid the football program is going in the opposite direction with Lloyd Carr however

Did anyone get to see this game? I'm not the biggest Kobe fan by any means, in factm the guy is a rapest who got off the hook....but 81 points. 2nd most in NBA history, 55 in the second half. Thats just flat out sick. Props to Kobe and the Lake Show for their W. WOW

Sounds to me like you're underestimating the Seahawks. This just in......they're a pretty good team. The only team that scared me all year was Indy. We went in there and ran into a buzzsaw. They tore us a new one. It was a good game for us to lose. We learned a lot and we applied it to the whipping we gave Manning and company for round 2. Our record speaks for itself. Of our 5 losses, only 1 of the 5 was a game we had no chance in. The other 4 were games we gave away. This team battled injuries all year and is one win away from the record books. NE loss: Randle El laterals away a ball when we had a chance to go up 14 early. We kicked the ball out of bounds and gave NE the ball at their own 40 to come back and kick a FG to win it. Jacksonville: Tommy Maddox fumbled a snap at Jacksonville's 25 yardline. All he had to do was hand off 3 times to Bettis so we could get a better FG. Baltimore: Tommy Maddox, need I say more? You guys still need a QB? Indy: We ran into a freaking buzzsaw. They did the same to us as we did to NE and Philly last year. We didn't have our starting LT and had a rookie sticking Dwight Freeney and it was Ben's first game back from his knee surgery. Cincy: We had too many turnovers in this game and gave it away. Even with that, we had a chance to tie at the end but 2 penalties killed us. We easily could have been 15-1. Our record is what it is. Seattle is a good team. Give them their credit. They wrapped up their division in August. They are battle tested this year facing AZ, SF and STL twice each. Why is it that the #1 seed in the NFC is a 3 point dog to the #6 seed in the AFC? Seattle should be the favorite. They have the top offense and the MVP. They had more sacks than we did on defense. Their coach has won 3 of 4 Super Bowls he has coached in as a HC and assistant. Go to the Seahawks fan site and see what they think about the game. Those turkeys think the Steelers dont belong on the same field as they do. Delusional at best. I can't wait for what LeBeau has in store for these guys. The wait for this game just sucks.
