You're dead wrong, Shanahan knows exactly what he is doing. Kissing ass where it will do him the most good. He has lost any respect I had for him. The officiating has gotten so bad that for the past 2 seasons I have not signed up for NHL Center Ice because I can't stand watching the abortion that goes on with these assholes that call themselves officials. The playoffs are twice as bad as the regular season.

It is difficult to think of the team without Homer. I just hope that when he does leave it's by his own choice considering what he has given to this team. You couldn't ask for a better team player. I Hate Franzen because he is the direct opposite, huge body, lots of talent and so frickin uncommitted and lazy. If he had even half of Homer's courage and commitment he would be one hell of a power forward.

Trying to address the issue at the trade deadline is almost always an expensive shot in the dark. I have been saying for months that Holland needed to TRADE one of his top six players to wake up the rest of very comfortable fatcats on this roster. Franzen is f***in lazy and now after his recent performance coupled with his enlighting statement to the media that the regular season BORES him, I wonder if he is even tradable with that awful contract.

Tough to win in the playoffs if you don't play in your face hockey and I don't have much faith that the Wings have any players in their lineup willing to do that on a consistant basis.

Too bad it took them 4 games to figure out that they have to play the 1st period and not just the 2nd and 3rd.

Seems that more and more people are beginning to agree with that assessment. I'm hoping management grows some balls this summer and trades him for someone that gives a s***. It would also send a message that when you get your "LIFETIME" contract you still have to give the team your best effort, which is not, in my opinion what Franzen has been doing. I also question Zetterberg's work ethic at times since he got his ridiculous contract. Everyone was touting him as being the next Captain but I certainly didn't see a whole lot of leadership out of him when Lidstrom was out......

Actually it's true. Game 1 the Wings had exactly 5 shots on goal in the 1st period and they sucked for the first half of this game. If you don't play the full 60 minutes then you are going to lose.

Hopefully they have figured out that tha=ey have to play all 3 periods and not just the 2nd and 3rd.

Or how to KEEP them after their mandatory stay in purgatory.

I've been saying for a while that a trade is the only thing that will get this teams attention and make them play their ass off. But also believe that Holland is incapable of even entertaining such a radical thought.

When was the last time the Wings traded one of their top 10 or even top 15 players for that matter? Help me out here cuz I've been thinking about this a bit and am too lazy (like Franzen) to do any research.
