First off, it's probably not true. Maybe one but not both. Pierre McGuire did say at thd time that Holland's offer blew St Louis' out of the water. So you never know. Secondly, Jarnkrok is playing well for sure, but he's not "killing it". And thirdly, Sheahan would fetch twice as much as Calle in a trade right now based on size alone.

It will be interesting to see if Babcock gets the kid line drunk and gives them revolvers, or if he hog-ties them to a post and plays 20-41-17 for like 30 minutes in game 1. Also, I’m going to quote myself here + add that 20-41-17 IMO is a pretty awesome 4th line.

You have to go with the Avalanche because of goaltending alone. But if there was one top seed that has proved nothing yet, it would be the Avs. An upset wouldn't surprise me at all.

Nyquist - No explanation needed 3. Monster - Really bailed us out when Jimmy was hurt/half-blind. I’d like to add though, that the Wings have always played a team game, but never like this year. Picking the MVP is almost moot.

Like I said, it's just a rumour, but it makes a ton of sense: semi-knowlegeable owners see big bad Bruins, who admittedly had lots of people in love with them after their cup run, and demanded that their GM get bigger and tougher. Really, why else would Gillis trade Hodson for Kassian? And why wouldn't it be true? Hell, the Illitches told Bowman to f*** off when he had all but traded Yzerman to Ottawa. And that was Bowman, this was Gillis.

I was listening to that radio show on tsn with the howard stern wannabee sunglasses wearing arrogant grumpy dude and they were saying that there was a huge divide between Gillis and ownership. Apparently the owners wanted to be the Boston Bruins and Gillis wanted to continue to play an up-tempo, skilled game. If this is true, I have more respect for Gillis than the owners. He wanted to stick with what should have been a deep-rooted organizational philosophy, and the Aquafina guys or whatever just wanted to copy another franchises' idea. "Hey let's try to be like that there team that beats us". I never liked that type of mentality.

Alfie's the only guy I'd rest. Ideally I'd rest Kronwall too, but then you increase the risk of having Howard get shelled. Which would be bad for his confidence, and bad for the team. In fact you could argue that they should all play. Being hot is more important than being rested. Get through that 1st round and rejoice when Z and Ericsson return.

1. You can't transfer the Wings record to the West and put them ahead of Dallas. They played mostly Eastern Conference teams this season. The idea that they'd have the same record playing Chicago 4 times vs Buffalo is illogical. 2. They'd still be in ninth because Columbus would be in 8th, with Dallas in 10th. Know what I mean? 3. Who know what Suter is thinking? I sure don't. Did he say he regretted signing in Minny?
