The Wings won the President's Trophy and the Stanley Cup that year. Sorry, but the Blues have built a team off of pretty good draft positions. That being said, I'd have zero issues with St Louis winning the cup.

In the face of the latest Zetterberg injury and with Pavel only looking 70% and with Franzen looking lost for the season, I feel like if we ever needed some leadership from Holland, now would be the time. So Kenny, make the call. Either try to buy your way into the playoffs or sell off the few assets you have and build for the future. Just don't sit around with your tinker kit expecting to tweak the team here or there. Those days are gone. We need some sort of power move in a new direction.

I'm sure that other than his health and trying to carry Detroit into the playoffs, this is his biggest worry: gaining back your respect.

I wonder if Vancouver would have any interest in Weiss? They need a 2nd line center right now. If his conditioning stint goes well, and he looks healthy, would they take Weiss + a prospect + 2nd for Edler? Of course, Weiss would have to waive his NTC.

Regardless of whether Detroit want Quincey back or not, I feel like he wants to explore UFAgency. In any case, if a defensemen is signed, it should be for 2 years. In 2 years one or two of Marchenko, Ouellet, or Sproul (or Jensen or Backman) should be ready. My money is on Kenny signing a older veteran or two to a short-term deal this July. A Scuderi/Zidlicky/Boyle type guy that's not going to be looking for a 5-7 year deal.

It’s not a knock against Franzen OR Weiss as players. I just like the way the team is playing right now. They’re playing consistent, hounding the puck, skating hard, scoring enough goals, and they look hungry. Putting a rusty Weiss and a sometimes floaty Franzen back in might hurt the chemistry. Think about it.

I don't want to see Bertuzzi or Cleary play another game in Detroit. Also, am I the only one dredding the return of Franzen and Weiss? This make the Wings slower and less engaged IMO.
