Are you talking specifically about Greektown or the city in general. Please don't tell me that we're trapped in our hotel after dark. I mean, I hadn't planned on blindly roaming around the city after dark, but it would be nice to go somewhere to drink/eat/hangout after the game.

The thing is. There's too many prospects that have to battle for too few positions. Holland will continue to let them all max out in GRs until they can no longer clear waivers. Exactly like he did with Smith, Tatar, and Nyquist (basically). Hoping to see Mantha, Jurco, Oullett, Sproul, Jarnkrok, or Mrazek before they have played in GRs for basically 3 years each, would be be a pipe-dream I think. Unfortunately. The Wings will do well next year to find room for Sheahan, Ferraro, Almquist, and (I think) Callahan.

Basically, I'm trying to decide if we should fly in to Detroit, or fly into Toronto, rent a car and drive down. The four hour drive's a piece of cake. I'm trying to gauge how useful it would be to have a car. A lot of things worth seeing and eating seem fairly spread out. The drinking would happen when the car's at the hotel

I'm hoping this is just precautionary league protocol stuff like Holland is saying and not something seriously long-term. I keep thinking back to how the Hedman and Steckel hits on Crosby looked at the time. I'm also wishing really bad things on Cowen. Not very classy I know. But f*** him. Couple thoughts. 1. Alfredsson's contract is not "bad" 2. Bert will not be coming off the books. He'll re-sign unless Holland gets visited by a poltergeist 3. "Jurco makes a push"? He'll make this team before Mantha and Jarnkrok. They'll both spend next year in GRs before making the jump IMO. 4. I'd expect DeKeyser to get 2.5 - 3M. 5. We will have enough cap space to sign a Vanek, a Marleau, or a Dan Boyle. Whether they want to come here or not is another issue.
